What I will do if I am buhari concerning the ipob agitation will be outlined below:
I will first call nnamdi kanu to debate for the secession of south east . The debate will hold on a neutral platform most likely the channels tv...later, i will tell them to vote for a referendum to leave nigeria..if they vote for it...i will then say that they should pay all the external and internal debts their states owed to the federal govt..
If they are successful...i will let them to vote again..if they still want to do so...then they will be called biafra region still part of Nigeria...with a clause that they will contribute 30% to the nigerian purse since it was nigeria's collective wealth that they used to develop rhe south east..

No wonder you are not Buhari.
Debate ?

North can still do well without oil money.
The love of oil money had blindfolded their leaders.
Look at their faces, they are afraid of loosing monthly oil revenues.

After Yoruba Restructuing meeting, now it is Hausa.

While Igbos have been asking for same thing prior to Referendum Request.

Yet the lame duck South South is not blowing up those pipelines already.

Stop sharing your resources with people who do not love you.
Even though if they start blowing up pipelines, Nigeria's economy will be affected but who do u think will feel the effects the most? Whose environment will be affected? Whose environment will be polluted?

Mazi Nnamdi has Kanu already won the battle.
No single shot fired from his end.

Yet, so many useless fools we have all over Nigeria still can't see the big picture.

One day in the near or distant future, he will be hailed as the greatest hero this nation had ever produced.

It seems that some people's skulls have been mined but they are still walking around with empty brains. The SS and SE has been calling for restructuring but which of these regions besides the SW has had the wisdom to come together and take a position? as the SS man and his either is entirely different from that of a SE man on the same issue of restructuring they are all calling for but here is the North debating a common front to present to the nation should the need arise yet some people assume these are the people that are not wise.
The north will also be ahead of other regions because while we in the south are full of talk, they know how to act. Majority of the people even shouting restructuring in Nigeria and here on Nairaland don't even know what they are talking about nor what exactly to expect.
Let's be wise, swallow our pride and learn from the north the way of staying miles ahead in the game of politics.

What do they want to debate about? Restructuring is a must. Nigeria is presently structured to fail. Our present state number was undertaken by the military government to create a powerful central government while weakening the regions hence in my humble opinion, we have too many states. The ideal primary yardstick for state formation should be economic viability. Every state should be able to bring something to the table in terms of national revenue. State governors are currently trust fund babies who just wait for monthly federal allocation & security votes to spend as they please with little or no accountability. No wonder they are trooping to abuja to go & do obeisance to the all powerful center, who hold the yam & knife. Any state that cannot generate its own money & manage its resources without federal intervention shouldn't exist in the 1st place. It's very embarrassing to hear a state say that it is a civil service state.

In the midst of all these, it's important to note almost every problem we have in Africa is all traceable to our unfortunate contact with Europeans. It's very unfortunate in 2017 we're still dealing with a problem created by Britain at the Berlin conference 1884-1885. Let's remember all these talks of Biafra, Oduduwa republic, Arewanistan or whatever, would not have been there, if we didn't have any contact with Britain. Igboland, Yorubaland, Hausaland, were already nations on their own before Britain arrive here. Without our unfortunate contact with Britain, we would've remained independent prosperous nations and the problem we face today won't have been there.

As a historian, this's why I don't see Hausas or any other tribe as a problem, but Britain that created this problem for us and left. And they'll open their dirty mouths to ask why Africans can't live together in peace.

It's time to dissolve the British creation called Nigeria and create a completely new country for and by ourselves. We can only live in peace in a country we agree by ourselves to create.

This is what is causing the conflict.. division 1 of the army is northern nigeria. Give peace a chance

It consist of 8 state.. not 19 states.. Mr Gowon was the one who created the problem, when he used the word Nigerian army.. it is just English..

because you are given the other division taxes to this 8 states.. it is creating fight.. and under development.. the GOC of Northern Nigeria is different from the GOC of central Nigeria and is different from the GOC of far east Nigeria( sambisa )

Northern Nigeria states are

Kano,
Bauchi

They should shut down pipelines 100%.....that is what I want.

When there is no money to share among politicians and their children, they will sit down and talk.

Hahahaha so corruption is no more the biggest problem of Nigeria. Told ya. Instead of voting in a statesman you went for a strongman now all the recovered loot will be wasted on internal security aka keeping Nigeria intact and after the tenure has ended the treasury will be empty yet again. Mark you the waiter has not brought the final bill for the Boko luncheon.

What we see years ahead Nigerians are just waking to. Fight corruption na. Slow, dense people. Don't restructure una hear.

Is restructuring debatable? Why are some people so stagnant in life? Nigeria been operating a failed system for decades now, doesn't common sense dictate that it is time to try another system?

What is so difficult in allowing states control their resources and revenue? In devolving the excess powers from the center?

A nation where its citizens cannot discuss the way forward can never last. Unity must be predicated upon certain terms and agreements otherwise it becomes superficial.

I stand for 100% total restructuring of Nigeria in line with the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference.
Restucturing means no more free oil money for them "northern elites", and more resources for the "southern nfidels", you dont expect them to agree to that now without a real fight.
