How many cities does New zealand have? Christchurch, Wellington, etc. and they have a population of 4m. If Botswana was as developed at Qatar, UAE, those countries have smaller population, i would start to respect Botswana, but for now, its just a rural country with no development to write home about.
so, u want to compare NZ with Botswana in terms of cities? and u want Botswana to be developed like Qatar and UAE before u respect them? which African country is developed like those two places? u don't need to respect any African country then.

what's this guy smoking?

Lol, Eko Atlantic for instance is getting booked by the day by wealthy Nigerians at home and would also be occupied by Nigerians in diaspora.

I started hearing about Eko atlantic 17yrs ago, everything seems to be going at snail pace. For intant, Sandton city was started in 1995, now its very big, it has become the financial hub of Africa.

Dubai started in 1988, and manifested fully in 2002, and stop lying, you didn't start hearing about Eko Atlantic 17years ago, maybe since 2010, and it was mostly about building the 6km wall of Lagos to prevent the water.

If you read that statement in bracket, you could have gotten a clear answer where nigeria futures.

He's quoting an old study by standard bank, of which some have pointed out the errors a long time ago. 4.1 million/ 11% of 160 million, lol.

Whatever, the article is wrong, and my article did not exclude SA, it clearly said largest on the continent. The same standard Bank study.
Again 4.1 million is not 11% of 160 million, do your maths.

Sixty percent of South Africans shop in formal retail supermarkets compared to 2 percent of Nigerians, according to VenturesAfrica and BusinessDaily.
AFKInsider looked at Nigeria’s 18 largest shopping malls now in operation or soon-to-be, and found that almost every one of them is anchored by South African brands, or counts South African companies among its largest stakeholders — or both.

The mall’s opening also takes South Africa closer to 2,000 malls countrywide. Currently there are approximately 1,785 malls.

Even most lagosians had no idea about Eko Atlantic that far back not to talk about a saffer.

Your definition of credible data is anything that supports your ill / negative view of Nigeria.
Jayceon sees a link saying positive things about Nigeria, he ignores it.

First of all I don't give a flying fu..cks if a certain percentage y'all shop in mall's or in the high heavens.
I have gone through the link you posted, surprised you didn't use good ol Wikipedia again, and nowhere was it said Nigeria got "only" 18 mall's, instead it listed Nigeria's "largest' 18 mall's.

His numbers are certainly exaggerated, but our retail sector is not half as developed as South Africa's. We get all giddy shopping at Shoprite over here, when it's nothing to the Saffers who have long had mega-chains like Woolworths, Spar, Shoprite, Pick n' Pay etc. Shopping malls and retail chains are a relatively new phenomenon in Nigeria since the likes Kingsway and Leventis shut down a couple of decades ago. The overwhelming majority of us mostly shop at mini-marts that we call "supermarkets" over here. And I still prefer it that way seeing as our few malls tend to be crowded (at least, in Lagos)

According to new data released by Stats SA, poverty is on the rise in South Africa. The latest “Poverty Trends in South Africa” report shows that, despite the general decline in poverty between 2006 and 2011, poverty levels in South Africa rose in 2015. More than half of South Africans were poor in 2015, with the poverty headcount increasing to 55,5% from a series low of 53,2% in 2011. The figures are calculated using the upper-bound poverty line (UBPL) of R992 per person per month (pppm) in 2015 prices. This translates into over 30,4 million South Africans living in poverty in 2015.

They've started lying again.
Poverty in South Africa is legendary.

The proportion of the population living in poverty declined from 66,6% (31,6 million persons) in 2006 to 53,2% (27,3 million) in 2011, but increased to 55,5% (30,4 million) in 2015. The number of persons living in extreme poverty (i.e. persons living below the 2015 Food Poverty Line of R441 per person per month) in South Africa increased by 2,8 million, from 11 million in 2011 to 13,8 million in 2015. However, this is lower than in 2009 when persons living in extreme poverty were 16,7 million, this is according to the Poverty Trends in South Africa: An examination of absolute poverty between 2006 and 2015 report released by Statistics South Africa today.
