The judge struck out the eighth-count after hearing an application filed by Diezani, claiming that she was indicted in the particular count, but was not availed the opportunity to defend herself. Accused in the case include, Omokore, his two companies, Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Limited. Other defendants are a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, Victor Briggs; a former Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Abiye Membere; and a former Manager, Planning and Commercial of the NNPC, David Mbanefo and the former Petroleum Minister, Alison-Madueke. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had instituted nine counts of criminal diversion of about $1.6bn alleged to be part of proceeds of sales of petroleum products belonging to the Federal Government, against Omokore and six others. Special court being advocated by you and Buhari will just be indiscriminately jailing people without giving them fair hearing I suppose? Some Nigerians need lecture on what democratic values are, I think this country has lived for so long under military that people like you have forgotten that people are not necessarily guilty because they are charged to court. Who says some of the cases brought against the woman could not have been fictitious? Not even when it is brought by apc, the party of liars and propagandists. Or you want to tell me that apc has not lied to you since they came to power? Abeg let the court be and tell Buhari to declare his state of health and how much he has so far spent on his health. Nigerians deserve to know and failure to do so put him in the sakme bracket with those who steal the country money. |

I don't blaim them, i blaim our justice system and this Buhari led govt, if they are sincere with their 'war against corruption' they will first work on our justice system. The truth is, our public office holders capitalize on these weakness knowing fully well they have the money to buy justice. I am not a politician and i'll not support those who have killed our dear country or are trying to kill our dear country b'cos i am not in support of the current govt, that's bad for our growth as a nation. Thank God Mrs Deziani is also holding a british passport and she's also been tried in a similar case, let us keep our fingers crossed and watch how everything unfold. No insults please. |
