LorDBolton:No other race can surpass Europeans in savagery. As late as 1600, Giordano Bruno was burnt to death in Europe, for believing the earth is round, and that it orbited the sun. What makes this act of savagery more civilizing than any similar practice in Africa? Do you know cannibalism originated in Europe, and that Europeans ate fellow humans openly till the dark ages? What makes this act more civilizing than any similar practice in Africa? You're free to believe what they want you to believe. Keep your inferiority, but don't pass it to others. If you or anyone else wants to know more about European savagery and Why Europeans Were Able to Conquer Africa And the Rest of the World using their savagery, see http://www.africason.com/2017/09/why-europeans-were-able-to-conquer.html |

[quote author=lawani post=60755264]Gwahir A good soldier must know when to hide or when to run, When to surrender etc Moja Mose as the Yoruba Say. That was what ibadan knew. Ijebu Was hindering ibadan access to coastal trade, so ibadan neutralised them by allying with the brits. it was a color and even ethnicity blind arrangement. ijebu can not fight ibadan alone talk less of ibadan and Britain, Then the british showed no interest in colonising the yoruba until the yoruba leaders in the clergy, business and traditional rulership wrote the British to intervene in the civil war and that led to colonrsation. The odu that birthed ibadan is ose meji which means conqueror. [/quoteBitish would still colonise Yoruba land, even if they were not invited. It was a matter of time. Africa had already partitioned and shared by the European powers in the Berlin conference of 1883/1884. |

Omoelerin1 Ethiopia was not colonised and if the yoruba had gotten their acts together instead of going into civil war they might have not been colonised for 60 years |

musicwriter:Everyone knows europeans were savages too baba... But number one, they left their savagery themselves... No one told them to.... And with their savagery rhey still were still far advanced than Africans This is 2017 and Africans are still savages... Take obadeyi for example.... Its not inferiority complex the guy is having, he's talking facts.... Dj Khaled isn't looked at as fat because he has a load money... A poor white man on their other hand will be looked on as a fat fu.ckeer if he has no money Take this and relate to the African and european savagery and you will understand why we look at ourselves as savages |

lawani:You're right. The ijebus were blocking the ibadans from accessing the sea believing they will be too formidable having sophisticated weapons from the brits |
| Re: The British-Ijebu War Of 1892 (The Battle Of Imagbon) by omoelerin1: 7:08pm On Sep 24, 2017 |
lawani:Well, I will agree with you that it might not be too long. I believe they will still annex their political imperialism to hinterland. It was the Berlin conference of 1884 that made the Royal Niger Company handed over southern Nigeria and Niger-Delta to British govt in 1990. Remember, they took over the North by force despite the resistance, they dealt with the sultan of Sokoto and Emir of Kano, before they merged it together with the South in 1914. Colonisation of Nigeria by the colonists was gradual process. Fortunately, colonisation of Ethiopia and Egypt was just brief. They got their independence in the early 20 century. |

| Re: The British-Ijebu War Of 1892 (The Battle Of Imagbon) by musicwriter(m): 7:45pm On Sep 24, 2017 |
LorDBolton:Yes, in 11th century Britain, not only did British people practice cannibalism, but also they sold human meat openly in the market as a result of famine. In fact, as late as 2001, in Germany, a man advertised for anybody willing to be eaten to come to his house. Guess what? Someone replied, went to his house and was eaten!. Of course, this act of savagery would look unbelievable or even civilizing to you because it was done by white man. This's why you must keep your inferiority to yourself and not pass it to others. The list is endless. irynterri:In history, you have to put it in "time" to be able to show they were doing so before external influence. The first Europeans (Portuguese) arrived Lagos in 1425 or thereabout. And afterwards Europeans generally began establishing trading posts in other coastal cities across Africa. All you have to do is ask the Emir or tell me the period these wars happened before the early 1400's when Europeans arrived. You also have to tell me what weapons were invented during the so called wars, because weapons of war are mandatorily built during wars. Example; in the short period of the Nigeria-Biafra civil war 1967-1970; Biafra built so many weapons, among them a weapon called "Ogbunigwe", translated in English as "mass killer". Let me know what weapons built across Nigeria and Africa during our wars. I need to see the museums those weapons are heaped. |
