Parasitic mentality. Our current structure has already left too many of us shortchanged. So if people lose their jobs it is perfectly normal.
You don't know what it means to be jobless?
Do you know how many workers hired by the federal government?

As an Igbo guy I'd also prefer the 4 regional agreement of 1963 because the old eastern region was Africa's fastest developing economy in 1965. But is it still feasible? A lot has happened now and it would be had to convince the Benue or kogi man that he should be in the same state or region with the Maidugri man. Even convincing Ogoni people to come back to eastern region is impossible for instance.

What we can do is work with the 6 regions, but modify it in such a way that yoruba parts of Nigerdelta and NC goes to SW region, Igbo parts of SS and Benue goes to SE region, Hausa/fulani/Nupe/Kanuri parts of NC goes to either North east or north west. The current 36 states should be made LGs while the 774 LGs be scraped. Elected LG chairmen should go to their regional capitals to form the new regional assemblies... councillors should be dismissed

We should also allow FG to own offshore oil found within a certain km off the coast of Nigeria in order to keep the central govt viable.

There will definitely be job cuts. But money saved from those job cuts would be available to go into infrastructural development to renew our cities and attract investors to create more real jobs.

how can this be possible?
eg oke-ogun in oyo state,
from defunct western region, the old oyo state till today new oyo state had ever emerge as the governor of the state,
and this region is the 2nd majority metropoli apart from Ibadan, and you want 10 LG of the area which is the only hope of the people of the area scraped!
waiting for ibadan for everything now,
if it is you can you accept?

i dont knw about the peculiarity of your state because Nigeria is vast. However majority of the 774 local govt is just a big money making machine for politicians who helped elect the state govt. We can demand more accountability if we make the 36 states LGs. I insist

are you really know how many workers and political office holders of the LG?
And do you know there were many towns and villages that never enjoy either the federal and state social services but only what LG and their community provided.
In every local government there:
i. LG Chairman
ii. Councilors according to how many wards it's have...may be 10!
iii. they might be 10-20 Supervisors.
iv. There were LG civil servants....may be 50!
If all these went jobless what restructure means then.
and the nearer government will be far away from the people!
restructure of this nature is not a solution to Nigeria problems it will compounded to it!
