My thread, my thread, our thread, our thread no be am if it leads us to erecting walls around opinions we feel are sacrosanct. No opinion is unassailable. Again I tell you that views can be disagreed with in a most polite way and maybe even strongly without insults and name calling and put downs. Sometimes we do not have patience with contrary opinions. Not good enough please. I don't enjoy the dark views of Mickael2 but I know we need that healthy dose of scepticism for the sake of balance(fact is I don't like it but I like it). It's not for nothing that he and nerd do clash often(some have erroneously interpreted it as envy). He is the counterpoint to nerd's enthusiastic and positive views. Goodjoe always uses humour to blunt the edge of the axe of criticism and sometimes insults. Komekn is truly a British man, highly cultured and urbane.

I am personally not happy with happenings here.
This is a thread that I always visit to make myself happy and I am sure so does most others here.

It is true this thread was formed by a few number of us but it has grown to what it is today because everybody is always welcomed here.

On the recent feud between TheSuperNerd and Pietorico. Both of them were wrong. And we have exhausted all energies to condemn their actions.

However, I cannot stay in a house that is divided. I don't know Pietorico that much cos he is not much of a regular here but TheSuperNerd I know very well and he is like a son to me.

I suggest we set up a reconciliatory committee.

Elders of the house and every one else I need your take on this.

He is one of our illustrious sons here and not withstanding his short comings we still need him here. He is a great guy.

I need 1,2 or 3 persons to agree with me on this so we settle this issue once and for all.

This thread has grown beyond a social media
It is now like a family. A house divided cannot stand.
Who is with me on this?

I am not a regular contributor here but a regular reader who has been following football since 1987. I agree with Icons comments and suggestion and I must admit this also makes me happy whenever I read this thread. Let's reconcile as we all have a common goal which is the success of our dearly beloved Super Eagles. I would hope and pray that no form of insult per abuse would be thrown here again in the future.

I followed everything regarding this regrettable debacle. At the point where Bascovanveli and even at a time goodjoe called on nerdie to drop the dollophead jab is where he should have drawn the curtain. But human nature being what it is, he didn't and at the end blood was spilled all over the place. Yeah a good analysis.

Not bringing down the younger ones among us here but the truth is that some of us have been in the game for long and so we really understand how these things work. Experience they say is the best teacher.

Yesterday, humility said I was always defending the coaches and make them look super humans or something. The truth is that is their profession and they have loads of years of experience to back it up. You can't walk into a medical Doctor's office and start disproving his diagnosis, prescription or something.

Following the trend of build up of the national teams in the past I see this current team peaking between 2019 AFCON and 2022 WC. The relative lack of depth in experience in several department of the team may become an undoing at the critical stages of next year's WC. For eg our own Balogun "omo Dodondawa" is going to the world cup for the first time. With all his heroics here in African, his true test will come when he faces forwards like Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Aguero, Sanchez, etc name them. We never knew Eguavoen was our weakest link in that 94 Class until Roberto Baggio exposed him.

I believe so much in this team. The quality is there and thus far the technical crew are maximizing it .

So this team is evolving and once it's core is established, fine tunings through inclusion of new players will be done gradually.

There is now a certain Junior Pius of Tondela. These so called inexperienced players that have talent
should be given a chance in the absence of talented players.
Team building should be a continuos process. It's a great thing to have Awaziem in the team.

I concur with whatsoever will bring peace. However, I don't think I am in the best position to be part of the reconciliatory committee because I don't have first hand information of what transpired btw the two parties, but you have my blessing.

Safari, babe, you don't need to apologise because you did nothing wrong but do not expect an apology from him upfront, just bury the hatchet, 'sorry' must not always be said before peace reigns. Who knows, he may later come and apologise to you privately but if we continue like this we will never know peace. Chrismario and Pietrico(I expect you to show up Asap) please forgive him of any wrong-doing but please let this die a naturally death. Icon4s as the leader of the gang has decided to embark upon a wonderful peace-making mission, let's all support him.

Your views on our team is needed. Bitter medicine I guess but necessary and I can tell you that professionally I always looked at the weakness of our case (playing devil's advocate) scenario when we deliberate as a team and it does help.

You are quite a perceptive person. It's said that solitary confinement is the worst form of punishment ever devised by human beings - not torture, not electric shocks etc. You will just go mad. Interaction is what saves us from the hell fires of insanity.

Yes thus thing will happen again and again but it would be better if we try(like you have said you restrain yourself) to do without insults. And even if one is insulted it would be an act of grace to either ignore or to call the person's attention to it without going on a revenge spree.
