Pythons get their food by ambushing prey. If u find yourself close to one, you won't know when it strokes u. They are slow to move but super fast in striking. Its not the dogs fault because these snakes have been known to kill lions, lionesses, tiger and even elephants. Among all the animals in this world, I never stop wondering why God created this monster snake. I would rather face down a lion than a big snake of this type.

I watched it live on Nat Geo Wild, it came across a large venomous snake 10 times it body weight, it killed it in the showdown and devoured it's head and left for another kill, it wasn't a python though, it was a Green Mamba, which is more deadlier than the python...

The dog is the definition of Nigeria security agencies that go about intimidating and killing unarmed protesters and taxi drivers on daily basis, but when met their mates with weapons they will all run into the bush.

I was only concerned when you typed "python" up there which is the subject here because I know for a fact that a shrew cannot take down a python in any circumstance.

The only animals that can attempt to overpower a python are Jaguars, some crocodiles, hippos and other bigger animals. Like I said up there, no dog specie in the world can stop an adult python. So make una quit with all dat "the dog no try", "my German shepherd will do dis & dat" talk.

PS: The mamba is deadly only because it has venom which the python doesn't. If the mamba meets a honey badger (who is immune to most venoms), it will die whereas a python will Bleep a honey badger up. So your comparison is somewhat unfair.

Pythons are never venomous; however they are powerful constrictors.
That Python you see there is capable of constricting animals twice the size of that dog with ease.
Once the python gets a wrap around the animal, it is over.
Plus they can swallow animals way bigger than them...i think 10:50 body ratio.

You have no idea, once these pythons targets and catches a prey there's no escape. It 'll suffocate it by strangulation and swallow alive whole. Dog no get chance oh.
