u expect the school authority to help them arrange/clean their room?Some of them will cook beans with their plywood they call stove,chop and leave the plate unwashed.

Nothing has changed 20 years after....so why do you think your pictures would make any difference besides the pictures show off a high level of untidiness..is it the porter that will help you clean your room??

Socialist countries charge their citizens high and in return provide those services. What percentage of Nigerians even pay tax at all? For the ones that pay, is it not still looted to build mansions abroad? I wish it was possible to privatise all these federal universities so that private investors would at least clean these schools up. But then, that equates to high school fees. That the average man probably wouldn't be able to pay. Universities need funding, and that's what people don't understand. Which prominent research are these federal universities doing to attract grants from private investors? In America the easiest ways to pay for University education are to either join the military or take a student loan that would probably take you 20 years to pay back. Which Nigerians would be willing to take that kind of loan (gets up to $40k per session) when they know that after graduation there are no jobs? At least there in the US just a small percentage of their adults go to the university but here in Nigeria everyone wants to be a graduate, not because of passion but because you can't earn a living with waec result. I don't know how to explain it sef, I'm just ranting right now. Dont know if Im making any sense anymore. The situation with education (and most other things in Nigeria) is a circle of failure. I wonder what it'll take to make this country actually work.

And u see the school should not be infested with bed bugs ? Btw what does the school authority do with the proceed from post ume and other levies ? Besides that cant they set up an enterprenurship scheme to address this poverty striking environment and stop depending on govt for funds. Let them take a cue from unilag and stop this show of shame on the social media

Fact that they have to live a spartan life on campus does not mean the hostel should look like pigsty. I stay on the annex in my part two, blocks 7 and 8 of awo hall should be knocked down nay the boys on those blocks are really to be blamed, they are pigs and idiots in KANU voice.

I don't even blame the government anymore, last week new light bulbs were fixed on the corridors of the hostels in my school...they didn't even last a week, they were all stolen by so called students that clamour for better living conditions. Light bulbs couldn't even last a week, it got me thinking what if the government even decides to put up better structures with state of the art facilities, would it last a second?
I think it's about time we looked in the mirror and stop pointing fingers at the government.

Why the 8k at the first place? The oil money is even enough to pay students some stipends, consider what those in the realm of affairs loot.
