my application is now 23 weeks and a day
Austinpee4:

Only on very rare cases. Once you request for your passport, you automatically have asked for your application to be withdrawn. Nevertheless, you could still have then send back you passport alone but again, it will be dependent on the nature of the urgency, time from date of application and the chances your application have.

I heard that in the aftermath of the "online presence" discussion yesterday, there has been sightings of transmigration by Nairalanders of the Canadian Student visa thread from online media forum that disclose their personal information. Lol. Wonders never end!

$3000 on visa application? That's funny, and the fact that it is not your friend (that really want to use an agent) that wants to pay thethe aunt makes it funnier. He can do it on his own and spend less than #60000(less than $200).
I've told him he can do it on his own. He knows nairaland and he knows about these threads. He says he doesn't have money and the little money he has he doesn't want to use for an agent. I told him he doesn't have to use an agent and can save his money and ill even help him apply but he's refusing saying he doesn't want to spend the little money he has. He doesn't even want to come for school, he's not interested in student visa because he says he doesn't have money to attend school here, but he just wants to come sha and via me sponsoring him is all he's talking about. He said he will come and be doing any job he can get. He's a friend, we're not related in any way.

Good evening house. I am about reapplying for TRV and I intend not to submit my passport alongside with my Documents. The reason is because the visa may take longer time like my first application and I may have a call from my company for a business trip to the UK.
Kindly advise me on the implications of not submitting passport alongside with documents during visa application........

I responded to your mail last night even before you posted a reply. The computer botched it and I lost it. I was so pissed! I speculated in that response that you were going for PGD/PGC. Turns out right. You see VOs denigrate these certificate and diploma courses and view it as an easy way of escape from the country by the not so serious academically inclined. Due to how easy it is to get into these programs, our predecessors have used it as an easy way of moving to Canada, then absconding into thin air. So VOs based on experience have put up their guards. My advice is for you to get a serious academic endeavor (in the VOs world) like a masters in computer science or computer security management. They will take you seriously. Throw in a land document in your name or one bequeathed to you and submit birth certificates of family in Nigeria and any marriage licenses ( to act as home tie). Write a strong statement of explanation that tackles not only why you have chosen Canada and the school and course you chose, but also why not Nigeria. Why is your education an investment in the future of Nigeria? You will win the visa if you do a good job. If you have a low GPA and cannot get into a masters program, it usually begs the question to a VO that if you have failed in Nigeria, how can you succeed in Canada? In that case I will recommend you get into a Foundation Course then use your statement of explanation to tell how you have learned from your mistakes. I reviewed this SOP where the person essentially admitted his bad grade, but went on to explain how he grew after university and came to learn how to succeed by working several years with results and commendations. I thought that was very effective strategy.

Good morning great minds. I am happy I came across this thread. Please I need some advice and I'll appreciate any contribution.

So I would want to do my Msc but I dont want it it be in same course as my undergraduate course which is electrical engineering. I would want something general like ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT or any other. My GP is 3.74 on a scale of 5. My questions are
1. Can I still meet up with fall 2018 if I start preparations now.
2. What country might be best for me, considered Canada but didn't find much for the course I'm considering.

Please I'll appreciate answers. Thank u all

Don't ever! Not advisable to use forged documents! If caught, you will be banned for five years. And your name will go on the computer of several countries as a persona non grata.

Good News for International Students

Some changes have been made to the Citizenship Act which include:

1. Days spent in Canada before becoming a permanent resident (as a temporary worker, international student, visitor and protected person) within 5 years of applying for citizenship will count as ½ days, up to a maximum of 1 year (365 days).

2. Permanent Residents of Canada physically present in Canada will be able to apply for Citizenship after 3 years within the past 5 years (it was previously 4 years out of 6 years)

All the changes take effect on October 11, 2017

Waooo! Congratulations!!!.
You made a wise decision by ordering your GCMS Note. I tell you your TRV is 100% assured. I guess the VO is just intentionally delaying the good news. But Glory be to God you figured it out.

Please start making your arrangements for your trip to Canada.
