You want to port to a custom rom be that. Check xda forums, just type redmi 4a. Custom rom plenty.

You can even check miui forum under redmi 4a.. Roms plenty not based on miui but Pure android

It's subjective. Like I said, it depends on the phones you have previously used. If you are coming from flagship series eg nexus or Sammy note series, then you might consider the camera as a downgrade. But if you are coming from the local OEMs here, then you have yourself covered. But all in all, you won't be disappointed whether coming from flagship or not.

If you are particular about camera, get the xiaomi flagship phones.
