I can already sense the anxiety amongst everyone. It is important for me to enlighten us what the disease is about.

contrary to popular belief, monkey pox isnt as deadly as you think. In fact, it is a brother to chickenpox and small pox... Its mode of transmission is almost always through contact with infected animals... However human to human transmission has been observed but in rare cases.

according to WHO...

"Infection of index cases results from direct contact with the blood, bodily fluids, or cutaneous or mucosal lesions of infected animals. Secondary, or human-to-human, transmission can result from close contact with infected respiratory tract secretions, skin lesions of an infected person or objects recently contaminated by patient fluids or lesion materials."

what is noteworthy is this...

"There is no evidence, to date, that person-to-person transmission alone can sustain monkeypox infections in the human population." according to WHO

Monkey Pox isnt a deadly disease. So, people stop the panic and focus on your life. Although there is no treatment/vaccine for it right now but it is self-limiting.

P.S: self limiting in medicine means it subsides on its own..

Govt really need to sensitize the general public about monkey pox in other to calm down tensed nerves.

the truth is most people dont read for themselves. i am thinking the govt siphon public funds into the pocket in the name of fighting about monkey pox... they should inform the populace about the true state of things so the masses dont become overly cautious for nothing
