Humility017:They say the best way to defend is to attack but Ikeme keeping us in the game in Ndola made me realise that a good defence keeps you in the game till your attacking yield fruits. Our defence has to be as solid as the Chinese wall. Imagine the likes of Messi, Jesus, Countinho, Griezman, Morata, David Villa. |

Everton Loanee Onyekuru Welcomes New Coach Of Anderlecht With Brace Against Mechelen On loan Everton forward Henry Onyekuru continued his rich vein of form for his loan side Anderlecht by scoring twice in their 4-2 win over KV Mechelen. The game was the first for coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck who was appointed by the team to help rescue a poor start to the season for the team who are representing Belgium in the UEFA Champions League. Onyekuru wasted no time in introducing himself to the manager by scoring twice within a space of seven minutes in the 30th and 37th minute precisely to put his side 3-1 up before the half time break. He now has six goals in ten games for Anderlecht, a form that has already lead to talks about a possible return to Everton in January, as they are struggling to score goals. Last season he scored 24 goals in all competitions for modest side Eupen, and he is in line to better the tally if he maintains his current rich vein in front of goal till the end of the season. TheGoodJoe:Presently, both of them lack the quality to lead our attack. Nacho missed chances against Senegal before his equalizer and was poor against S.A. Ighalo on his part is not that good on our Jersey, failed to score with a mid-field of such quality. You can't take any of the two as a starter to the WC. Kc might also fail to score if he was picked for the Zambian game. Hence, the need for a good nine. I expect Iheanacho to step up his game and claim the No.9 position, since he and Ighalo are now in the same position. We should not rule out the possibility of a new invitee becoming our WC no.9 since the both of them have failed. Our team works this way"when u get ur chance, give ur best and in face of competition, step-up your game.If you fail to abide by this rule, you are out.You can ask Omeruo and Shehu. |

EEGA:Just get that Iheanacho was not poor against SA. A player is poor when he does not utilize his opportunity. He was brilliant with his movements. The passes were atrocious. I just want to clear that. On who should lead the attack? I will pick Iheanacho because if we create the right chances, he is in a better position to deliver than Ighalo. However, our conservative play restricts our chances. |

AF Niger 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup - India Niger reach U17 World Cup last 16 by Austin Ditlhobolo Brazil secured a 2-0 victory over Niger in the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup Group D match at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao, India on Friday. The victory sees Brazil's Junior Verde-Amarela advance to the last 16 as group winners, while the Junior Menas of Niger also advance to the knockout stages as one of the best third-placed teams. The Junior Verde-Amarela applied some pressure on the Junior Menas defence from the first minute as they searched for an early goal. The South American side did find the goal they had been looking for after the Niger defence was exposed four minutes into the game. Paulinho made good run down the right hand side and he played a low cross for Brenner, who scored with a tap in to make it 1-0 to Brazil. The Junior Menas found it difficult to unlock the Junior Verde-Amarela defence which was marshalled by Lucas Halter. It was soon 2-0 to Brazil after Lincoln beat Niger goalkeeper Khaled Lawali with a deflected free-kick in the 34th minute. Brazil then suffered a blow on the stroke of half as Vitinho, their star midfielder, had to be substituted with the teenager looking sick. However, Niger could not level matters as Brazil managed to contain the African side and the score was 2-0 to Junior Verde-Amarela at half-time. Brazil goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao was the busier of the two shot-stoppers in the opening stages of the second-half as Niger looked to equalize. Yacine Wa Massamba, the Niger midfielder, unleashed a powerful shot which was saved by Brazao in the 55th minute. The Junior Verde-Amarela were losing balls in their own half and they were nearly punished by Massamba just after the hour-mark. Brazao had to produce a wonderful diving save - parrying away the diminutive attacker's thunderous effort from range. The Junior Menas came very close to snatching a late goal with six minutes left, but once again Brazao was alert and he brilliantly finger-tipped Habibou Sofiane's long range effort over the crossbar. The match ended 2-0 in favour of Brazil, who managed to contain Niger in the dying minutes of the encounter. Not looking good for Musa Mohd. I'm thinking his club has played 11 games cos an attacker had played 11times. If out of 11 he's played 3 times then it's a poor return. Well I hope he moved late to that club, that's the only good excuse I could think of.... Why can't this guy be the first choice at any club he goes to? |

forgiveness:Absolutely 100%. However, he came to Liverpool and couldn't cope with the speed, intensity and the physicality. Yes I did see him when he first came, to us it was obvious he was light weight. He was promptly sent to the gym to beef up. He was use to playing pretty tip tap football in the Portuguese league. He couldn't cope and never played one game for Liverpool in the premiership after near 4 years. That in my book is sadly a failed project and an indication of very limited ability. Or alternatively you could say good for the Portuguese league but woeful for the EPL. The EPL is not for everyone it's the most competitive, physically intensive and fastest league in the World. Not everyone can cut it, unfortunately Ilori is one of those that couldn't cut it. |

elyte89:That's just what the stress has been. Play this guy in his strength and he will thrive. Is it not the Nacho we know before? They are suffering the boy I swear. They did the same thing to Mikel. Imagine in 2005, guy was second best to none other than Messi. Messi flourished in his natural position while Mikel stymied trying to cut it in a position that Yes, using his great footballing abilities, he survived in but till date many soccer pundits still look back wistfully to 2005 and imagine the beast of a beauty that Mikel would have been. It is to his great credit and boundless ability that he survived that experiment. Now they've started on Nacho. Even his u-17 coaches have cried out that the guy is best as a SS but No, they must go on. Imagine Iheanacho as SS with Iwobi on the right, both of them switching like they did to the ruin of Mweene and Mikel behind them what wreckage they would cause to teams. It's really painful. I think the thing is start a player in his natural position, when he's established there you can move him like Gaurdiola did to Lahm moving him to midfield after Lahm had established himself as a RB. |

safarigirl:A fair assessment in my estimation is that Iheanacho should first be established in his natural position and then he can move further up the attacking line if need be. Look at CR7 for example- he played many years as a RWF now a CF. I understand that his tone is harsh but if you read carefully you'd see that he is panicking for Iheanacho. He is saying change, change, Change cos what the current way is not working(and for me that change is to go back to his SS position where he can play with freedom and flair). I trust that most want him to come through positively. I don't think it gives any true Nigerian soccer fan joy when our players underperform particularly those who are in the national team. |
