I have seen so many Nairalanders complaining and lamenting their ordeal in the hands of fake scam companies who invite people for interview only to introduce them to fake drug marketing business.
I'm doing this not only because these companies waste people's time, energy and T-fair going to such interviews, but also because most of these scammers extort money from hapless job seekers thereby making their suffering times two.
Imagine a scammer extorting #10,500 from a graduate who have been unemployed for years, not to talk of the transport fare wasted going to such fruitless interviews or job chat as they usually call it.
Some people even borrow money to pay these sheep in wolves clothing, who promise them heaven on earth. Some will tell you that you will make half a million within 1 month and all that. If you're not careful, you will take a loan that you will not be able to repay thus causing embarrassment and lack of rest of mind. An unemployed person should have only himself to worry about, not having debts also.

So I believe that if we are properly guided, we will not fall into the hands of these scammers.
Having said that, there are ways by which one can identify a fake or scam interview invitation and there fore avoid such waste of time and money. The good thing is that most of their messages come in the same format, so you will know its fake!

1. The message does not bear a company name: most of these scammers won't include their names on the message you will receive. All you will see are the address, the time and date and a phone number. A genuine company will not hide its identity from a potential employee.

2. The message will say "interview/job briefing": whatever job briefing means I don't know!
3. You will see a code or reference: something like "HR=0056" or "REF=002". This is an indication of the code number of the person who invited you to the "job briefing".
4. It will contain a phone number: this is the number of your referer. Most genuine companies don't give phone numbers.
5. You will see HR Admin in the message instead of company name
6. If you call their number, they will be reluctant to give info on the company.


And pls, ignore those people sharing job flyers on the streets, and those ones they paste on walls. Those are scammers and some ritualists too. And also most of these so called agencies are avenues for duping unsuspecting job seekers. Pls shine your eyes well well.
I will post the names of some of these fake companies/ agencies later.

Modified: i knew this was going to make front page. Now i can build anything here. I am always cautious of the interview test before going for the interview. Svammers are everywhere. That was how some1 sent a test related to the one above and told me to send money b4 i can get d job after calling him.

I have attended hundreds of such interviews before, they would tell you about Dangote, Otedola, Otunba Gadafi (mobile toilet) etc. In such their chats they roll out their dos and donts such as, you must never answer a phone call, you cannot take an excuse to ease yourself at the restroom, no side talk, no getting up to do anything, infact once you enter their so called interview room, to get out is by stubborn determination. At the end of the day, they tell you to come and register with certain amount of money and become their "drug dealer". Pls shine your eyes. The OP has already given you most of their common gimmicks like the HR stuff, Ref code and their usual "Job briefing" line.

jobless graduates out there. this is for you. and please don't say you're too big for this, because you can be making at least 20k a month for a start from this business.
look for any outskirt around you that you know is usually busy. get a table, some firewood, groundnut oil and other things you'll need and start frying puff puff, yam and akara. if God so wants it, you can be making about 40k by the time people start patronizing you very well.
isn't this better than subscribing on MTN and wasting your time online to come and check how many of Davido's friends have died?

yes they do but make sure u verified the company very well..... GNLD has taken over with fake job interview......i could remember when I was called for aptitude test PZ cusson it was on Saturday. i was skeptical initially been Saturday I did some background research and found out it was True. Though I did not pass the aptitude test.

Any time you get a text from Denva Castle, pls just delete and don't bother to read. Can still recall the time I went for their job briefing in their empty office and make-shift banner. After waiting for long hours, there came some shabby looking illiterates blabbing of their exploits working for themselves, especially the girl who said she was 24 yrs old and a graduate of Ambrose Alli University. She said boastfully how she had built houses for her parents receiving close to a million naira per month and other benefits just for speaking to people. Someone who earns that kind of money cannot wear the clothes and shoes she put on that day. The most annoying part was how we were made to clap repeatedly for 7 times as they came in turn to address us, some of who could not speak a simple English. It was a nice drama to behold though, just that time is golden for me. And at the end we were asked to pay 15k after saying that our starting salary would be 67k. I was amazed when graduates were jostling to pay that money because it was meant to be paid instantly. I smartly collected that stupid Ekpoma girl's number. Very soon she will know that it's not everyone that can let go such a scam.

I have a friend that works @ Neo Life.
The guy seems happy doing this job (I don't know y) and he thinks he's gonna be successful doing this job.

When he started, he explained how this job is and I was like "how could u fall for this scam?". I was surprised when he replied me with "it's not a scam".
