I tried googling that theory, can't find any evidence of citrus on MRI tests.

I do find it strange because MRI simply looks at the fusion of growth plates and is considered 99% accurate.

In poor countries, due to poor nutrition some plates might fuse a little later but it is usually not more than 2 years.

I think Onyekuru will eventually be converted to a 9. We should try him out at that position during one of the friendlies. It might turn out to be an internal solution to our striking issue atm

may I also add that even against Algeria we should not make more than 2 or 3 changes from the normal starting 11. The team is taking shape already and we need to sustain the momentum and build on it.

One of the players I would love to see is Aina starting at LB. Let us see if the food he will cook would be better than that of Echiejile. I would also want to see Iheanacho starting. Let's give him another chance to prove his worth. Thirdly, let's rest Onazi and make Mikel play from CM so Iwobi would play the AM role, flanked by the two Moseses. Let's see how that midfield combo would play out.

yea, I don't subscribe to onyekuru playing the top 9 role, I see him like a Hazard kinda player, he can cut in from the left very easily to shoot or pass to the top striker.

sorry oh, am not a food scientist or a nutritionist but I want to know what this citric acid does to the bones that will enable someone older than 17yrs beat the test, cos I know most of this white guys or someone like that obinna that was born in USA would he scale that test if it's by intake of fruit(citric acid)

The thing is no one's opinion is useless here and no one has The superiority of opinions. If we consider our ways of reasoning in the past and how we reason now you'll find out that we have all learnt from each other in diverse ways.

I've learnt a lot walahi from everyone here. Goodjoe's constant harping of the concept of 'pressing' made me to go online and read about it for more understanding.

Please tell theGoodJoe that it is bone fusion, the plates are already there and will continue growing until the plates fuse which is usually between the ages of 15-19 which means a younger person can fail it and an older person can pass it still

That is why I prefer a more balanced set-up where the forward players concentrate more in attacking than defending. We are lacking in our defensive set-up and require numbers to defend. This in turn diminishes our attacking strength.

With a more balanced set-up, someone like Onyekuru can be considered.

But you hail Gaurdiola because he likes his attackers to track back abi his set up at Man City ain't balanced again? The thing is that it's not just Gaurdiola, it's the trend in modern Football that attackers are expected to track back and wing backs are expected to give muscle and bite to the attack. Even the idea of pressing you so much love is a form of defence by the attackers.

I would like to see Aina in his most natural position which is RB we need to know our best players in each position. Then we can shuffle them around to see how versatile they are. Is Shehu our best RB compared to Aina that's a question we need to ask and know the answer too.

The scans are represented by each player and well monitored and reported. The FIFA agents are there to maintain integrity. You can not just report was done when none was done. The scans are also collected and sent for cataloging. It is serious business for FIFA.

Also, the people scanning it have their integrity to maintain which is more important than the careers of some teenagers looking for a way to make it in life through football.

Beating wrist scan is impossible because it is showing the bone structure. You can even study development of the bone from the structure. It is a science. Not some joke test.

It is a science that's is based on given parameters it's not an exact science it can not tell how exactly old you are.

Your bone scans are matched against given parameters from which informed deductions are made.

Is it possible to beat? Yes 100% because it's indicative and not absolute. Furthermore, physiological make up, environmental factors, nutrition and racial identify all impact on the final deductions.

I believe some of our players who failed it were within the age bracket but due to the strictness of the scan, where a player younger can fail but a player older can not pass to a high degree accuracy, the young ones who failed might be within the age bracket.

The only reason Maduabuchi Obinwa's case raised dust was because he was American born. If he was Nigerian, no one will care.

I believe the scans are monitored by CAF.

You are right, we have had problems with age cheats but we have churned out younger folks 2013-2015.

Wilfred failed 1 MRI before the CAF championship but passed the one during the qualifiers.

Ifeanyi Mathew passed all MRI scans but failed before the world cup.

I believe these men are not far from their declared age.

MRI has drastically reduced the scale of cheating. Not everyone cheats. In 2015, some of our players were still in high school at the time of the tournament. That shows a step in the right direction.

Kayode is one of the few active players from his set of under 17 alongside Onazi, Azeez, Ajagun and Omeruo. Kayode still has a lot of pace which tells me, he is not far from his declared age.

Obagoal is still running fast doesn't make him a teenager. Sylvan Distan when playing for Everton was at the age of 37 considered one of the fastest players in the EPL.

If you read Adokie expose on Kayode he would be at the barest minimum 30 years old.

That is what the MRI is all about, FUSION! You can see that up to 19years the bone can still start to fuse at that age(in fact up to 20 sometimes due to improper diets in Africa/Asia). Fortuna Sittard's technical director, Charly Chudik, was surprised to hear the voice of the former Nigerian star late last December. The team seemed to be in a disastrous state in 18th place. Why would such a famous person be interested? And why would he get in touch instead of sending his agent, as it is usually done?

The answer is simple -- Oliseh really wanted the job.

"I received various offers after resigning from the Nigerian national team," he said in an interview with ELF Voetbal magazine. "A top club from South Africa, a club from Portugal and numerous national football federations approached me, but I wasn't interested. Family is the most important thing to me. I wanted to go to a place that would make me happy. Sittard is just 45 minutes by car from my home."

Married to a Belgian, Oliseh lives in Eupen, and that is where he took his first job as a technical director in 2007, but left after six months because he didn't like working in the office. His first coaching experience followed at tiny Verviers in the Belgian third division, but then Oliseh became a pundit, and only came back to the dugout when Nigeria offered him the post in 2015. It was a short and very eventful affair, with Oliseh eventually choosing to quit over allegedly unpaid wages and return to his natural surroundings.
Sittard, situated in Limburg close to the Belgian border, are a proud club of interesting heritage. They may have only won two cup trophies more than half a century ago, but spent long seasons in the Eredivisie and nurtured a number of quality players, including the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel.

However, Fortuna were not fortunate at all following relegation in 2001, and went close to bankruptcy at least three times. Turkish businessman Isitan Gun took over in the summer of 2016 and saved them.
"Without Gun, Fortuna wouldn't have been around these days. He brought stability to the club and appointed new people to the board," De Gelderlander journalist Robert Husken tells ESPN FC.

The 2016-17 season was tough in the extreme, though, and coach Ben van Dael was fired following a terrible run of just one point from nine matches. Oliseh was waiting for that opportunity to offer himself, and the club got a coach they could never have dreamt of.

He got off to a winning start at the magnificently named Achilles'29, and proceeded to get some outstanding results. The 5-2 win over Ajax reserves, having trailed 2-0 at half-time, was especially memorable and fans started to flow back to the stadium. Sittard only lost five times in the second round under the new coach and finished the season well above the relegation zone.

Not all the reports were positive. Oliseh's spell with the national team was marred by conflicts with senior players, most notably the popular goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, who was stripped of captaincy and forced into international retirement. Curiously, that was the case at Fortuna, too, as veteran captain Ferry de Regt left the club in the summer, having fallen out with the Nigerian. Assistant coach Tini Ruijs and goalkeeping coach Patrick Creemers left too, unable to work under Oliseh.

In an editorial published in June, De Limburger journalist Patrick Delait accused Oliseh of installing authoritarian regime.

"He behaves like a governor, and nobody dares to contradict him," he wrote. "By constantly sharpening internal relationships, the Nigerian is becoming a ticking bomb. He looks sympathetic on TV, but behind the scenes he is a wolf in sheep's clothing."

So far, those pessimistic expectations haven't come true. On the contrary, Oliseh has made a phenomenal start to the season, winning five games out of seven, and only losing once. Following the 6-0 triumph at previously unbeaten Telstar last Friday, the biggest away win in club history, Fortuna are second in the table behind Jong Ajax, and technically lead the race because the Amsterdam side are ineligible for promotion.

That is not the only record broken by Oliseh, either. Taking the previous season into account, Fortuna are on an unprecedented run of eight home wins in a row.
And the first goal at Telstar was scored by 17-year-old sensation Perr Schuurs, the youngest captain in club history. Born in November 1999, he was given the armband in the summer by Oliseh, who explained: "If you are good enough, you are old enough." There is little doubt that Schuurs is a huge talent -- he was invited to train with Liverpool in the summer, while Ajax and PSV Eindhoven reportedly made offers to sign him.

Oliseh certainly enjoys working with youngsters much more. Out went the likes of De Regt and 33-year-old striker Sjoerd Ars; in came exciting prospects like Portuguese duo Andre Vidigal, 19, and 21-year-old Lisandro Semedo. They are ably supported by two more 21-year-olds: Finn Stokkers and Djibril Dianessy.

Having laid solid defensive foundations, Oliseh is letting his team play an attacking brand of football, with 21 goals scored so far. Talking to ESPN FC, Delait now admits: "Oliseh is a good motivator who is very strict with his tactics. Fortuna play as a unit under him."

Husken added: "Sunday is a no-nonsense coach who is very clear on what he expects from his players. Having such a star on the bench makes a massive influence on the team."

It's apparent that Oliseh has a scatted and rebuild mentality. He also prefers to work with youngsters, most likely because they do not have the kind of ego older players have

Oliseh must also be egoistic, hence his choice to work with young players who won't be as difficult to manage.

He didn't really change his ways, but as can be seen, it is easier to be a radical change agent in club football than National teams.

He will have a hard time at the bigger stage.. As his philosophy can only work with youth teams or teams with younger players. Not taking anything away from him.

All this dem say arguments, you hardly learn anything.. we keep arguing in circles. The MRI is a standard. It is here to stay. Any player who passes the test is within the age range. If you can't provide their original certificate to disprove it, just beat it.

We who are suppose to be repairing our image with the MRI science, are tearing ourselves down and trying to make claims about players who are most likely actually within the range. it's pathetic. Some of us will go all lengths to attempt to prove these players are all age cheats if we are paid.
