This thing the pain me to the bone,so tay I get heartburn!!! . Na Only Lagos they try out of 36 states, even the useless Biafra no geh any plan for themselves, they can't even elect a good leader (God punish okorocha anywhere he is) These politicians need to be assassinated ASAP !!! if only we can use Jungle Justice on one of them 1 Like |

Talkwell:You will not have such godlike powers to confiscate whatever asset you want! The problem is that many people don't understand Nigeria's problem, so when politician makes promises, they don't ask how.
Jungle justice only applies to poor people, for it to apply to powerful people, societal security would have to break down completely and I am confident that an average Nigerian does not want a state of anarchy neither do they want to participate in the killing of god-appointed leaders. |

Islie: it's very sad and disheartening to hear and see things like these. The fact is that there is NO state without these white elephant projects which are used to mortgage the future of the masses. I always wonder why would a sitting government start a project with a completion time that is far beyond its tenure when it knows that our political system is so unstable on issues of continuity and is built on selfishness and not selflessness. May God help and deliver Nigerians. 1 Like |

ivolt: You're right, there are actually people with good intention but they aren't part of the two political parties most Nigerians recognise. The outrageous fees for presidential form(there's a nomination process within the party, and to get it,you must pay) can make a man steal. The corruption in this nation reminds me of Narcos, nauseating to say the least. 1 Like |

Ogun State government is the most useless one in the country. They are so quick to erect signpost around borders around Lagos but never in their heads does it tell them that the place they are claiming requires government intervention. Ogun State roads are so terrible that one begins to wonder if Amosun has any plans at all. He is the king of unfinished projects. Several cases abound in the state. APC is a sham! Same old politicians in different party colours. |

One reason why I like Lagos state. I don't recall seeing any abandoned project by LASg since Tinubu time till now. Okay one comes to mind now, the housing project at Ilubirin. But for the many projects that Lagos state government does, their rate of completion is quite high. |

These abandoning projects cut across not only all the states but even worse across the Federal government level. Just to name a few , where is the 3000 MW Manbila Plateau today what about the proposed long ago 700KV new Transmission line projects . These abandoning projects cut across not only all the states but even worse across the Federal government levels. Just to name a few , where These abandoning projects cut across not only all the states but even worse at the Federal government level. Today what about the proposed long time ago 700KV new Transmission line projects which was planned to improve power transmission capacity. what about the Aladja steel project which has made it impossible for any of our iron and steel industries to work till today. Oyan hydro power dam Oke Ogun area of Oyo State is a Federal project and has been abandoned for over thirty five years till date. Are we even talking of Nigeria Paper Mill; Oshogbo machine tools not to talk about second Niger which has been under construction for several years ago What about THE SEVERAL NIGER DELTA PROBLEMS even untouched by their so called son of the soil through out his six year presidency. Kainji Hydro Dam which was proposed to generate 1200 MW by the then Colonial masters in 1955 could only be made to generate 320MW by the time Gowon commissioned it and that was the era of " Money is not our problem but how to spend it" With all these facts and figures at our disposal the country's problem has been due to vision less leaders immediately after the first coup till date. |

[quote author=Chrisbeks post=61662472]Can the nation newspaper write any damning article about Nigerian governors without mentioning Ogun state? All this propaganda against Amosun just because Tinubu wants to impose Yayi on the people of Ogun will fail. They couldn't even list the alleged white elephant projects in Ogun yet they joined Ogun there just to taint Amosun. SIA has done well and he is the leader of APC in Ogun state. If tinubu is desperate for Yayi to become governor then he can make him governor of Lagos after Ambode. He has not nothing |

Omofunaab2:Thank u o my brother, hw can someone not see d Abeokuta sagamu ten lane as a white elephant project. I am still trying to know d thinking behind dat road, however if dat is not enough, wat of d models schools he built, what has become of them. Are those ones also not white elephant project? 1 Like |
Re: How 7 States Blew Billions On White Elephant Projects by omoajiri(m): 8:47pm On Oct 22, 2017 |
mayormick: The proposed Abeokuta-Sagamu 10 lane road is actually a PPP based project and the Public/Government part of the project is as follows: 1. Government must ensure the availability of land along both sides of the corridor/road for industrial development only hence the governments accusation/revocation of all title on/of all undeveloped land within 2km on both sides of the corridor. 2. The construction of the road and flyovers from the start point (I.e Ibara) to the Kobape end of the road. The Private partners will continue the road from that point to the Sagamu interchange and/or beyond. A few of the immediate benefit of the road is the ongoing construction of the Largest brewery/bottling plant in Africa (upon completion) by Vita construction for Sabmiller®, which will employ over 1200/people during the construction phase and about 3000 direct and indirect job upon completion. A few other multinationals are already on ground with construction works as at today and many more to follow suite. These and many more are what invalidates the assertion that the road is a white elephant project although the government failed woefully in terms of general development of some critical areas and border towns, education etc but subsequent administrations can and should tackle those inadequacies headlong. PS: I am not in government service or political patronage of anyone. |
