Medicals are supposed to be submitted upfront. I read a case on canadavisa where it wasn't uploaded, they were waiting for it to be requested. The stream was PNP. After 3-4 months, the application was rejected because of the medicals not done upfront.

Many thanks.will revert my findings to them.

@farefare,

Perhaps your friend got PNP nomination and they are supposed to submit paper based application to CIC.

CIC receives the paper application, then you get AOR after which your application can be linked to the CIC website to follow the same flow as those on EE.

The paper based application after nomination is quite different from EE, you're not required to do medicals, submit POF docs, References from work or ECA.

They would send documents for medicals at a later date, and may(not often) also request for additional documentation later.

Thanks @jumdah .will confirm their means of application and advice accordingly. smiley

Hi Guys,

Been a while, i am reporting live from Canada(Winnipeg) Landed on the 9th Of October. The Journey was Smooth we Bless God this Journey started here on this Platform i greet everyone of you here both Elders and Newbies.

we used Egypt air(Travel Start) Family of 4 from Abuja Nigeria to Canada. Egypt air was cool not as bad as people made it look, stopped at Cairo then boarded Toronto Canada.

we carried 5 strong Ghana must go backs and one Bus making it six luggage's it is not supposed to exceed 23kgs so na to weight the thing wella. if you are carrying food items ensure that are well preserved ie properly dried and grinded into powder and stored in Ziploc.

Abeg if una never book use Abuja to move out ooo, no stress from anybody there but ensure you get to the airport 2 hours before Boarding
so everything can be sorted out on time, but for us those Nigerian immigration guys be one tell me say my luggage plenty so i had to educate them that every passenger is entitled to 2 luggages and 1 hand bag and we were a family of 4 all this na to drop something sha.

our Luggage was not searched so just package your self nothing dey happen. so the journey to Cairo no wahala but the A/C for the plane na die, so wear better jacket for National peace. at Cairo waited for about 2 hours then we left to Toronto.

At Toronto now the immigration guys no get joy oooo, the babe come ask for all the document finally e come reach for the money we bring come Canada. so i told her we brought $1500 oboy no be small thing ooo this lady come dey speak english ooooo, as a sharp Nigeria guy before leaving Nigeria i activated online banking, dollar card and domiciliary account of all currency and change almost all the naira to dollar.

so we transfer all the money instantly to the dollar card and that was it. every other thing was history. Above all Pray before leaving, Baba God nia get Power.

Hi @Newmum0615,

Let me help you understand the issue here.

The VO did not mistake the staff’s grade with job role. It was stated multiple times that the issue here was clear misrepresentation of the job role.

The guy claimed to have been a ‘Credit Supervisor’ while he was not. GTB has credit courses for ‘marketing’ staff… so the certificate on credit issues could easily be available.

The issue is clear. He a procedural fairness letter dated Mar 15, 2016 with 30 days to respond. All he needed to do was go back to HR and ask for a letter in whatever format they will give, confirming his department. If he were truly in credit, he will have gone to HR directly. Problem solved.

See point number 10.
“[10] Mr. Akinbile responded to the procedural fairness letter, explaining that his October 9, 2014 employment letter had not been signed in accordance with the Bank’s procedure, as the Human Resources department of the Bank would not provide employment letters for Bank staff in the form required by CIC”

in addition, he and KA contacting the VO with the same email and contents is highly suspicious, moreso their letters were also identical even when they claim to work in different branch. He didnt do enough to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that there wasnt some game going on.

I think people should thread with caution and endeavor to put their HR(or whoever is the contact point) in the know if they decide to get a letter from a supervisor to fulfill CIC's reference letter format. if possible sef, take the letter to your HR to confirm that your designation and roles on your reference letter doesnt conflict with what they think is appropriate. Just to save oneself from the long story of having to explain to a V.O what is obtainable in your peculiar work environment.

[24] This Court has, moreover, repeatedly affirmed that visa officers have no obligation to notify applicants of inadequacies in their applications, or in material provided in support of applications: Hamza v. Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration), 2013 FC 264 at para 24, 429 F.T.R. 93. What the duty of fairness does require is that officers provide applicants with the opportunity to respond to concerns related to the “credibility, accuracy or genuine nature” of information submitted: Obeta v. Canada (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration), 2012 FC 1542 at paras. 20-26, 424 F.T.R. 191.

This says a whole lot. Meaning they do not need to inform you of what exactly is incriminating, so you dont cover up evidence, rather they just give you a chance to either clarify issues or further incriminate yourself.

Infact, na serious oga plus oversabi! As if showing the balance was not enough, saying bank/cash must be physically present in Canada in this e-world and various means of money exchange.
Many questions that beg for answers...like, does it mean one can't change just half of POF to dollars and travel with it and leave the rest in one's naira account until/if it is needed and convert through whatever means.

Biko, I refuse to be bothered. Different strokes...

I think they reserve the right to demand for evidence of it being readily accessible to you in canada. even if they decide that implies being in a canadian bank, in cash or whatever convinces them. Let us remember that this people are doing this out of suspicion and there must have been a trend that encouraged this. So it is best we prepare for such eventuality, as the results of such incidences would go a long way in determining if they would substantiate/invalidate their suspicion of one sincerely having access to the POF; and consequently if such "over sabi" would die off or become standard practice.

I don't still get it.. Money is in Accts, not cards. We use cards to access accts. Ebho, come and explain more.
Bro, the Dollar card does not work like the Naira card which guarantees automatic access to your Naira account. If you have a USD dorm account, holding a Dollar card for that account is optional but if you request for a card, a sub account will be opened for the card. In effect, the card does not give you access to your dorm account. For example, if you have say $10k in your dorm account, you can't spend that money using your card unless you first transfer the money to the card account.

To bring it home, you have a dorm account with a credit of $60k (twale alaye Santino1 grin) and you want to pay for your family's app fee + RPRF which cost $2,080. Just by virtue of you holding a dollar card will not make the transaction successful if you fill in the card details, but you have to first move $2,080 or more from your dorm account to the Dollar account before the transaction can go through. So, you can have $57k in your dorm account and just $3k in your card account.

Due to card frauds and bois not smiling, your money is much more safer in the dorm account than in the card account. Hence, it's usually advised you keep the barest minimum or just what you need at the moment in your card as your money might mysteriously grow wings one beautiful night [s]while you're samankweing. Imagine receiving a $60k debit alert in the act [/s] grin.

Hi,

Please, I have a quick question. I'm about to do my wife's certificate verification through WES. She has only a Bachelor's Degree. I was thinking the B.Sc certificate and transcript was all that will be required but surprisingly, WES requested for WAEC transcripts too.

Could it be that I didn't fill out the forms properly or is that the standard requirement?

Also, how does one obtain WAEC transcript?

Thank you.

If you already have the card, there should be an account for it and your bank should give the number. Lemme confirm though.

This is not the standard across all banks in Nigeria. I know GTB operates this way, they separate their Dom account from the Dollar debit card account. I.e. you must transfer from your USD A/c to the card account to transact with the Card.

Some banks link the Dollar Debit card directly to your main Bank USD A/c, so your transact directly on the main account.

If your card is a USD credit card, its always separate from your main account

I think GTBank Dom Acct is better. Moving money to card acct makes GTBank Dom better than other banks.

That is my problem with the story. The VO was mistaking grade level with job title. I don't think the guy did enough to discourage this line of though sha IMO. As you said, you may work in a bank as an executive trainee or banking officer and have a specific job role. This has taught me something though. I will go the extra mile and include explanation in my LOE concerning my grade level and specific jobs. But those VOs should be used to terminologies like our Naija grades in banks naa. On the other hand, I think it is safer to get ref letter from your HR rather than from your supervisor, cos they might send a mail to ones HR office and then the person may be unlucky that they speak with the "wrong person" that day. My opinion sha.

My past employer gave me a reference with my level then went on to detail my job roles, duties and responsibilities during my period of employment. For my present employer, i knew they don't give references to serving staff so i got the standard letter or introduction from HR and that stated only my level and remuneration. I went further to declare my job roles and responsibilities, I also printed out my job role together with my KPIs from our HR portal and included documents to prove my work status.
I included this in my LOE that my current employer does not give references to serving staff which is why i had submitted other documents.
