If you don't know just ask and I will teach you. The Ilaje people are a subgroup of the Yoruba ethnic group. They are even considered as one of the core groups of Yoruba land. Their major occupation is fishing which is the reason you will only find them in the coastal areas. They have the largest land area in ondo state, contribute immensely to the purse of the state and yes, they own virtually all oil blocks in te state like those at ayetoro, gbenefa, aboto etc.

A lot of Yorubas are now hardlined and core tribalists due to provocations by the igbos and I am pleasured by that. I joined Nairaland almost 5 years ago to make my Yoruba people more enlightened of igbo hate and envy for Yoruba. I am happy and I can say my work is done. Igbos have made my work very easy. It doesn't really matter, we never once said you guys didn't contribute to the development of Lagos, the hausas did too, as well as an ijaw man, in big and many small ways but the demographics of Lagos state can never be put aside and as well it's geographical location. Lagos became the capital of Nigeria because Nigeria had no choice. It was the first point of call of the colonial masters due to it functioning 'international Port' and arguably the most conducive and civilise place to reside.
So Nigeria owes the west for making Lagos the FCT and not the other way round.

kogi was also a former colonial headquaters but nobody would claim it.... because in 1914 when nigeria officially started to exist, lagos was the capital.... till 1990.
