When she went in to get the food. Ken took the large painting and hung
it beside the Television.

''Wow!'' Vicky exclaimed when she came out and saw it. ''It's so
beautiful hanging there.''

''It's beautiful.'' Queen agreed.

Vicky set the food before them and Ken took out a wine and three
glasses. He opened it and filled the three glasses.

They took their glasses and he said, ''Let's drink. To the most
beautiful wife on earth.''

''To Vicky.'' Queen said.
'To the best bestfriend in this whole world and to the most handsome
husband.'' Vicky said with her glass raised.

Their glasses touched and they brought the glasses to their lips.

They drank and then sat down to eat their food.

''It seems we're forgetting one Mr Chiagozie.'' Queen reminded them.

''He won't leave those ballons even if you place ten plates of chicken
before him.'' Vicky informed her. ''the scattered cakes on the floor
can prove that.''

''He took after one of you. A mango cannot bear apples.'' Queen said.

''He took after his mum.'' Ken replied defensively.

''Oh-no! Don't deny it. Your son took after you. Look, he's just a
carbon copy of you.'' Vicky replied.

They continued laughing and eating the deliciously made meal that
Vicky had prepared earlier. Life indeed is sweet when we have our

K.C returned to find Rachel sitting peacefully and watching a T.V programme.

''Welcome back.''

''Thanks Rachel, hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long?''

''No not at all,'' she replied. ''where did you go?''

''somewhere very important,'' he replied. ''It's already 15 minutes
past 2. Let me drop you at home and then help you talk to sister.''

''Alright. I really enjoyed staying here. But you still haven't told
me where you went to?''

''Madam Rachel, do you want to go home or not?''

''I want to call home. I've deliberately missed my sister's call three
times. I don't want her to go to the missing person's unit at the
police station.''

''Good then, let's go.'' K.C said smiling like he's a big time lottery winner.

They entered the car and K.C drove off still smiling like a young high
school girl whom her long time crush just asked out.

''Why are you smiling?''  Rachel asked as they neared the gate to the house.

''Smiling is good for your health.'' he replied.

They got to the gate and the gatekeeper opened it. He slowly drove in
and parked at a corner, knowing he would stay long if his plan is
accomplished.

''Thanks for the ride.'' Rachel said as she alighted.

''You're welcome.'' he replied, turned off the engine and alighted also.

They walked to the door and he nodded at Rachel to go in first.

''I'm dead!'' she muttered and walked in after making the sign of the cross.

''Rachel, where did you go to?'' he heard Dami ask.

''Sister. Good afternoon. Did that 'nosy' neighbour of yours not
deliver my message.''

''A friend's house? Which friend?'' Dami asked.

Then and there K.C realized how hurt she is, Dami has always been a
calm person but now she's raising her voice on her sister.

''She was in my house.'' K.C answered, walking through the door.

''Your house? Dami asked and turned to her sister. ''I thought I asked
you not to go anywhere. What did you go to do in his house?''

''She called me to talk to you.'' K.C informed her. ''And now I am
here to talk to you.''
