Chi is not God. God is Chukwu in Igbo. Chi is different from Chukwu.

Knife/cutlass is still 'MMA' the same spelling as I mentioned above, but different intonations while pronouncing.
Just like egg, bridge, wrapper are all spelt 'akwa' but with different intonations while pronouncing.

Weird thread. This is a simple function of dialect. There is no "correct spelling" of a name. This is like arguing which is the correct spelling: "Ebele" (my sister's name) or "Ebere" (the name of one of my best friends) which both mean the same thing.

Mma is a word.
But can only be seen in a 'phrasal-word' like oMe-Na-ala.
N and M behave like vowel but they are not vowel in Igbo language (ie myiri-udaume).

Everybody has a personal god which we refer to as guidance angle which is chi. Chukwu is God the creator. Chima and chukwuma are two different meanings.
