Hello Gurus,

Good Evening,My 1 year tuition is 15,445CAD for a 2year PGD intended study i was delayed 30th of last month for with all financial boxes ticked so i applied immediately for my GCMS note. After seeing the notes i think my case is a clear example of V.Os not checking all documents submitted please i really need your input and advise because i want reapply immediately. Apart from paying the tuition fee balance for 1year what other things do you think i can add to tackle this denial. Please see attached GCMS note stating Lump sum from an unknown source and below the history of the financial statement submitted.

GT Bank - 7.8 million (Mum received rent of 4.6 million in July for a whole building she letted out to a school she also paid 7,500 CAD half of 1 year tuition in August
UBA- 2.3 million (her salary account with monthly income of 285,000)

My Bank Statement
GT Bank- 2.5 million (Mum transferred 1.5 million to me and she stated it in the letter addressed to V.O)

Please note that i included rent receipt of the 4.6 million and all documents of the building but obviously the V.O did not check the document and still denied me on lump sum from an unknown source. The v.O also stated i included a third party sponsor which is false. There two statement from my mum and my GTBank LOA

I think you can also ask for a reopening of your application file. It seems they don't really check the documents anymore. Let the Gurus come and assist in this one.

@ Mazuide this will be my last post on this, I understand you very well but I am posting this to help you understand the intricacies of my point.

Vacancies in Canada hardly request for qualifications more than a Bachelors Degree and when they do, they require some years of experience.

The Economy in Canada now is not at its very best so there are few opportunities for fresh Men.

They need people who can deliver straight away.

Engineer in Training Positions are very scarce now in Canada now, I personally know so many EITs finding it hard to launch their Careers. I am an Engineering Grad. student so I am using this as a case study.

An average Nigerian left Nigeria to come to a Country where they can work,(ALMOST IMMEDIATELY) as opportunities are tight back home.

Canada is not like Nigeria where you can keep chilling and staying motivated while waiting for your dreams to materialize. The cost of living here is very high and it will be best to know your next line of action even before you leave school.

You have a lot of bills to pay, you will most likely try to pick any job after school so that you can survive. The truth is when you start working in the anyhow job while hoping to break through in your career, someone who was able to break in immediately is already 100times more Marketable than you.


After studying the way this systems works, I discovered this:

You can have a great career here with even a high school certificate, you just need to be excellent in a defined career path to have a successful career. You also have to understand what each career path presents you with.

Graduate studies prepares you for a career path in Research, Academia and Management. There are lots of opportunities for this Career Path in Canada, but the opportunities want EXPERIENCED PEOPLE not FRESH PEOPLE.

You as a (FRESH GRADUATE) will not have the best experience after Graduate School if you never had any work experience or transferable skills other than that which the Graduate School Presented you with (QUOTE ME ON THIS)


The best transferable skill that graduate study will provide you with is critical thinking, at best, if you really worked hard, you will be a great critical thinker which is a good.


Industries on the other hand appreciates you for being a critical thinker, but needs those who were trained on getting the job done to match their needs. This job ready skills are not obtained in graduate study.


I will end with this: Mr. A went to pursue a Masters Degree in Oil Refining Technology, without ever working in a Refinery in his life.
He will understand the basis behind refinery operations and how to improve processes which is very good, but he has not idea on real operating conditions, at best, he has predicted this via simulations on steady state and dynamic scenarios.

On the other hand, Mr. B learnt hands-on applied Refinery Operations in College, and must complete required hands-on hours in a Refinery which is mostly a requirement for his graduation, and registration to his professional body.

Who will get job faster??

Mr. B will get the job faster, then go later and do a part-time Masters so that he can be Manager.

Mr. A after will be waiting solely for Engineering in Training Positions to Launch his career.

In Nigeria, those that will handle Dangote's Refinery are in India receiving Hands-On Training and the good news is they are graduates. Dangote knows that it will be a waste of resources if he waits for the Refinery to start operating, then bring in fresh graduates.

This is a Nigerian Entrepreneur that has modelled how the Developed Economy works.

It is all about SKILLS, SKILLS, SKILLS.



Trust me in Canada you need to plug into your career as fast as possible.

Canada's Industrial Labour Market is strictly focused on (Soft-Skills and Hands-On Skills).

I really appreciate this your eye opening information, it is Paramount that every individual add value to himself, nobody wants a liability everyone wants an asset on his/her team.

Though I am not in Canada now, but will be soon by God's grace, but I discover that all you've said so far is based on your experience as an engineer. I will love to say this that there are some field of study where you acquire some skills while studying that most companies will employ you for.

For example in my field of study, science ( a statistician) there is virtually no field that doesn't use data, and as a trained statistician you will be taught how to collect data, code it, analyse it and interpret the result and implement the result in real life.

My point is this, there are some field of study that learn the required skill in their course of study and whose research uses data obtained from real life cases. This prepares them for life outside school and make them employable.

However, you're 100% right about adding value to ones self, even as individual there are skills we can develop on our own without any formal training that we know can be benefial to us... Like you said, company wants people that can get things done, and not people with just theoretical knowledge...

Bottom line... Add value to yourself... Ire o!

@Ilovecanada, many people who applied for masters and PhD programmes did that because they were not originally planning to work in Canada but to acquire knowledge which would be helpful in their home country. Deciding to stay back after one's studies is another thing altogether. That is secondary .

His one size fits all analysis entirely misses the point. Some graduates whose education is not in the skilled specialization area, go on to found companies employing the very skilled oriented workers he seemed to be saying have an edge in the playing field. At any length, please we are here to strategize about college and TRV. Let us not put the proverbial wheel before the cow/horse/donkey.

Sorry about the denial. Did you write a short summary (either in your SOP or your mom's sponsorship letter) explaining the source of the lumped sums (and refer the VO to the receipts)? If not, it's very difficult for the VO to make the connection on his/her own -- especially in the midst of a large stack of submitted documents.

In your next application, do what you can to make everything as obvious as possible.

My question. How do I go about sending my passport.

Do I have to pay VAC $47 for transmission fee or my initial payment covers this cost.

All the schools I have mentioned have computer science. You need to start digging in. Their tuitions plus room and board a year are astronomical--60k US dollars a year. But good thing is they are financially generous to promising and worthy student who otherwise cannot afford to attend. I attended two of the listed schools at practically 0$ to my cost. So go try your luck. If your sponsor who is your uncle, was denied visa, that doesn't mean anything. You are not your uncle. I mentioned some second tier schools in the USA, university of Maine. 20k a year USA dollars covering for everything. St Thomas University and Trent university in Canada are also affordable. 20K a year Canadian covering everything. Go do your research sir and wishing you the best!

Ps: no guarantees on visas. USA visa is pretty straightforward and easier to get with admission letter, valid I-20 and proof of financial ability. Documenting heaven and earth that you are gonna come back like they do in Canada embassy is not really in vogue with the USA application.

Omo, you patient o. After giving him a sample of the schools that he could check out, he still started asking tuition fees when a simple google search will bring that out. Well done sir.

This is sad, the issue i see here is what you explained was just not visible enough or was skipped. I would advise you file to re-open your case, and point out where you explained it. However, re you the only child of your mother, if not, are the others still dependent on her.

The program is for 1 year with like 2months co-op inclusive.

However i am the only son of my parents and my four sisters are all married i also co-manage the estate of my late father with my mum all this information was stated in my mums sponsor letter. Please how can i re-open my case what are the procedures and is it also possible to re-open when my passport has been returned. I am still expecting your mail bro.
