Ndigbo are investing back home massively and I am very impressed. But this is more in the real estate/housing sector. I wish our brothers and sisters can pull funds together and invest in embedded power generation and light manufacturing industries.

Spyder880 what do you think?

I have been following this thread for quite sometime now and I want to honestly say kudos to Spyder880 and the many others that have kept this thread going.
Let me start by saying that His Excellency has been trying in actualizing his dreams for our beloved state. Truly he has been making giant strides in Nsukka especially. If you are reading this sir, I want to say well done and truly "Enugu state is in the hands of God". However as a recently returned citizen of Enugu state from the U.S.A and a concerned one too, I was SHOCKED recently when I visited the industrial hub of Enugu state... Emene especially PRODA Road.

I went there because I heard that there was this new school that is excellent in practical science and technology, Shalom Science and Technology Academy I believe it is called. So I decided to pay it a visit because my first son would be entering secondary school in September.

What I saw in terms of the road infrastructure, marveled me. I couldn't believe this was a part of the state not to mention the Industrial Hub. I will be posting pictures for you all to help me access this. I wept inside me for the numerous business people who were doing business in that street. The most unbelievable thing is that you have about 5 federal govt institutions on that road. (PRODA, SON, NIMC, THE Nigerian Police Headquarters, FITC etc.) My goodness me.

His Excellency should do something. A world class institution in Enugu's industrial hub should not be allowed to suffer this way. Also as you approach the school, they still have this banner of His Excellency and when he commissioned the school in September 2015 and when I asked why it was still there, I was told that the director still has high hopes and firm believe on His Excellency Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to do something about the road.
I want to use this platform to beg the governor to look at the road and the plight of the many multi million industries there. One time when I visited Anambra state, we took a drive to Nnewi, precisely to their industrial layouts. Men I saluted Peter Obi who was the governor then for how he made sure that the roads were in the best conditions. I am not here to compare states because Enugwu statii bu nke anyi but please Gburu Gburu do something about that road.

Why are you surprised that roads with federal establishments in the south east are the worst roads? The current Buhari led APC government does not think the southeast is part of Nigeria. Just visit federal roads in the state to see the meaning of irresponsibility

My advise for you is to overlook these temporary infrastructure deficit the FG has been orchestrating in the SE to force the people from there to invest their life savings in the north and other places. In time, they will use quit notice or some new dubious laws to dispossess the non-indigenes of their hard earned properties. I always ask those wise enough to see through their evil design not to fall victim to it. Let the foolish and stubborn among us continue burying their investment in NORTH without any northerners reciprocating by investing in the east. When it finally happens, let nobody cry that they didn't know the game going on in Nigeria

GBAM!
I have told people that the plan of the enemies of Ndigbo is to make the region and any part of Igboland unviable and un-inhabitable so that you will all run to Abuja, Lagos , Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri etc and help them to develop it. Does anyone remember how they raised hell when Uduaghan started the Asaba airport project? Do you know till date, the FG refused to grant that airport full NCAA recognition? They have even closed it down for a litany of excuses! Meanwhile airports are built in Dutse, Gombe,Bauchi with full FG collaboration and same FG force private airlines to use those airports in airlifting Nigerians for Hajj pilgrimage. The same FG even built two airports in Kaduna and put all the excellent daytime and nightime landing facilities in them, made them international airports, even when nobody flies there. Yet, Enugu International airport runway potholes cannot be fixed by the same FG without closing the airport down INDEFINITELY!. They cannot fix two glass windows that fell off from the glass cladding without closing the airport indefinitely!

If you know someone's plan to make you forget your father's land and live perpetually as a stranger in his land after you have carried the larger burden of developing it, a wise person should simply REJECT IT and say BACK TO THE SENDER!

Unless Igbos do exactly that in Nigeria and concentrate on improving their own states than looking for unsolicited help to improve other people's villages, Igbos will ALWAYS be exposed to the evil tool of using legislative tools or quit notice to suddenly dispossess them in those strange lands.

OreMI22, God bless you. A Lot of igbos are just too blind to see the evil agenda being carried out on them. But the day of reckoning will arrive. Let them continue pouring their sweat and blood developing other regions when no other group does the same in igboland. For those Igbos that never gave up on their land despite the deliberate abandonment, God bless you all too.

Bros, are we sure those roads are federal roads or is the blame we want to place on the plan to marginalise our people actually a blame supposed to placed on the shoulders of our dear governor, Gburus?

All you said about the plan for marginalising the south east are correct, but we are also facing marginalisation inside our own states too.

Please can you show us pictures of the bad roads in question so we can find out whose responsibility it is for the repairs. I thought PRODA road is an inner city road inside Emene indusrial layout that leads into a town called Nchatancha Nike area.

Thank you.

Another observation.

Many people are no longer building industries, factories and production facilities inside the Emene industrial layout anymore, I see schools, churches and housing estates springing up inside the layout.

Are there no laws made to state what the use of these lands are, I think we should restrict the use to industrial purposes and revocation of allocation done if an person deviates from the plan.

One thing the Southeast Governors should do for posterity is to DESIGNATE land for the 5 industrial clusters (One for each state) which they promised.
More importantly, they should look for locations that have abundant gas in the region and partner with indigenous oil firms and Shell to tap gas from those oil wells to supply the industrial clusters. If states like Ebonyi have no gas oil wells, it can be supplied through pipeline from Enugu, Anambra or Abia.

The gas plan for the region is the only way to reduce cost of manufacturing due to unreliable electricity in Nigeria and particularly in the region.

You just said my plan. My hope is to become very rich someday with my current business and investments. Once I am done accumulating private wealth, I will buy a large piece of land and establish a private power plant ( it is called embedded power generation). Then I will invite only industrialists and manufacturers to come and build their factories with guaranteed power generations to manufacture goods. We will agree on electricity payments outside of government interference. This is common sense and rich igbos should already be doing this.

Ummunne, ekene m unu.
I congratulate you all for fighting to keep the unity and development of Igboland alive, it is a collective task we all must invest our time and resources in, despite our religious, clannish and political differences, what unites us(Igbo), is greater than what divides us.
I am not a newcomer to this thread, I'm from Ebonyi but from the sidelines, I admire Enugu and wish them well, even though sometimes I wish my state was not detached from Enugu state in order than I can share the pride of Enugu with you all. God bless Enugu and Igboland in general.

As regards my deep concerns, I have happened to lose the breadwinner of my family and face the idea of suspending my studies at the university of uyo. I am a 300l pharmacy student there but tuition and fees have made it difficult for me to continue studies. I can prove my studentship in the above mentioned school. I just need financial guidance and if i have to pay, i can submit my original certificates as collateral till I pay in full before July 2018 after some tough hustles.

Please i need you guys support, i don't know who else to run to or beg for financial assistance. I know things are difficult for us all but here i see real estate investors. But the saying that human investment is investment for the future. Please help me out, the money is huge i know but i promise to payback. Even if 3 or 4 contribute individually the amount can be reached and i pay back before or in the mentioned month and year.
May God help us all. Thanks.

Although I don't know what your intentions are, but if they are for good and a genuine quest for information and knowledge, then I will be happy to inform you that Enugu state has so many flyovers, they include;

(1) Ninth mile flyover, connecting Nsude and Ngwo town over the Onitsha express road
(2)New market flyover leading into new market
(3) Bilante flyover, connecting Trans Ekulu with GRA zones
(4) Independence layout flyover, connecting Independence layout with new artisan area
(5) Ugwuaji flyover, connecting Ugwuaji town to Enugu main town over the Port Harcourt express
(6) Amaechi flyover, which connects Amaechi town to Enugu town over the Port Harcourt express
(7) Garriki flyover and ring road, still over the PH express
(cool Abakpa flyover
(9) New haven flyover, built by Sullivan Chime

Nke anyi bu nke anyi mana nke m bu nke mu! I understand and detest the evil politics being played in this expression and as long as I have my money, no other place will smell my investments but Ala Igbo.

P.S. Just in case I have been attempting to post pictures the wrong way, please can someone guide me. Cheers

Infact when I heard the highschool was more focused on Science, Computer and Technology, I couldn't have wished for a better location but in an industrial hub as it is done Abroad. Kids need to also from time to time tour some of these industries for inspiration and to see how things can be done better. Infact in my boys school abroad a few years ago, they took a tour of one of the prestigious car manufacturing plant and made a case study out of it. So i believe the school is best placed, as for churches honestly let me kept shut (too many things to say).

And I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of industries on that stretch of road (4 palm kernel oil production plants some of those guys ship over 50 trucks of this oil a week, there is also a Chinese owned timber exporting point. I didn't really like this one not because it was owned by a Chinese but because I was told that some days you would see over 15 trucks full of timber, then the next week you will see the 20 or more trucks with empty containers to be loaded for export. I wonder why Enugu state government did not ask that man to at least build a timber processing plant there not just cut and ship out to China, then there is PRODA, my god I wept the day I took a tour there. That was when I knew that Nigeria really hates prosperity of the Igbo's and then you have this school and so many other industries) Trust me the cluster of industries on that road alone is more than 100 Billion Naira or more (Ndi Igbo na agba mbo, we dey try well) if not more but the state of that road is just an eye sore.

I will try and post these pictures so that you people can help me access. Because to me that cannot be a normal operating condition in my beloved Enugu with an amiable governor like his excellency.

Are you people not tired of this nonsense?

Which SE road did Jonathan, your adopted son and hero, do for us? Was it not under the same man that Enugu-Onitsha expressway was totally abandoned portions of it used for farming?

Today that road is being looked at. I drove down to PH from Enugu this week and I am impressed with the spate of standard revamp this govt is doing on Enugu-PH expressway.

There is even a massive FG ecological project going on in my little village. First since before the war.

Hatred will not help us. We must demand more but not in this old and unproductive way you have posted.

Oga, I totally disagree with you saying speaking the truth without mincing words is unproductive. Igbos are the most loving Nigerians because any group treated the way Igbos were treated under Buhari will have taken up arms or embarked on killing fulanis in the southeast

Yes, GEJ messed up by not building key roads in the SE whom supported him. Even Obasanjo and Yar'Adua before him did not. But we know they simply had focused on other issues. Obasnjo built Onitsha -Owerri road, Yar'Adua gave the offical permission to upgrade Enugu airport into an international status and his successor GEJ completed the project.

Buhari has the Wahhabi Islamist fanaticism and hatred for some specific Nigerians especially the Igbos. Please point to one project Buhari did in the entire SE and not even Enugu. Not just that he labelled the area 5% and treated it as such, he went ahead to plot economic ruin of the region even tried to provoke the region into a war so that his intention of destroying the little recovery that has happened since 1970. Man,

Buhari is devil's incarnate. I am not afraid to say it the way it is because even people like Rochas who worked for him to gain votes in Imo state etc and told Imo people that Buhari will build Federal roads in the state and cite federal projects there. Even the roads being built by GEJ were abandoned as Buhari refused to make anymore budgetary allocation to any of them. Not minding they were in Imo state. Owerri-Umuahia road abandoned, Owerri -Okigwe road abandoned, Owerri - PH road abandoned and Owerri - Aba road abandoned.
Rochas had to do the Owerri-Orlu road himself out of shame. So, if Imo state even with all Rochas did for Buhari and they have nothing to show for it because the bottomline is that they are still hated Igbos (5%ers under Buhari),please stop expecting that praising an evil person will make him treat you differently. Evil people have no empathy or compassion in their soul and will never change.

The same Buhari that is doing major projects in northern Nigeria, upgrade Kaduna airport in 2 weeks to take international flights diverted from Abuja airport, yet he could not fix glass windows that broke in the AIIA,Enugu, we had to use concrete & gravel to patch potholes on Enugu airport runway because Buhari does not consider that an international airport in Nigeria worth spending anything to fix potholes on the runway. He even removed that airport from the list of concessioned international airports to show you he does not even recognize it as international. The worst part is if the airport is concessioned, it has a chance of being developed to its full potential as a business facility since we already know that the Federal Government & FAAN will NEVER develop that airport because it's located in a hated part of Nigeria and they will continue to frustrate every private sector or state government initiative aimed at developing the airport to a true international facility at the level of Abuja, Kano or Lagos. Think about it, has Peace airline been granted facilities to make Enugu it's hub? Has Turkish Airline been allowed to operate into the airport NO! Instead they are forcing them to operate into Kano. The same people that made a mighty revolt because ET was given permission to operate into Enugu as third entry in Nigeria, turned around and asked the same ET to operate into Kano and Kaduna airports and the suddenly the mighty argument of multiple entry points which they vehemently stated to cancel ET flight to Enugu no longer hold water because Kano and Kaduna are northern airports.

Bros, biko, if you have nothing better to say, don't say anything.

Bros, biko, if you have nothing better to say, don't say anything.

Even after I informed you that serious work is on going on PH - Enugu express way and that an ecological fund project is even going on in my little village Awlaw in Oji River LGA. You still ignorantly ask me to mention one project. I tire for you, Sir.

SE got N16b in October from the Sukkuk bond. Same amount as other zones. Where is the 5% talk in that?

Payment is being made to our abandoned civil war heroes. Is that also a sign of the devil's incarnate?

Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene that was abandoned by Jonathan is fully repaired; by the same Buhari we love to hate

I know the state of PH - Owerri road around Umuagwo before Buhari came. Go there now and see the smart solution that this admin has provided. Now u can drive from PH to Owerri with eyes closed

As I said you must not like the man. You can demand more but I encourage you to stop the baseless hatred. Especially since you love someone who treated you worse. Stop being a bigot.

You better stop lying. This statement alone makes me think you are Abagworo that thinks everyone online is a fool so he lies shamelessly on things everyone can verify is a lie.

Rotimi Amaechi built the road from PH to Owerri and stopped at the Rivers state boundary. HE WAS NOT REFUNDED BY FG!

The same FG has not completed the dualization from Rivers State boundary to reach Owerri.- FACT!
NDDC stepped in and repaired a few really bad sections and now funding most of the project.

We discussed the same topic here in NL : https://www.nairaland.com/2398372/11-states-seek-n300.5bn-refund
http://www.thescoopng.com/2014/07/06/gov-amaechi-says-fg-owes-rivers-state-n105-billion-get-huge/

Now please stop lying and post the projects you claimed happened in your hometown Awlaw. Muo Asi!

By the way, stop googling names of towns in Enugu state and claiming they are your hometown. I actually have very close family friends from Awlaw and can verify anything happening in that town

[s]Are you people not tired of this nonsense?

Which SE road did Jonathan, your adopted son and hero, do for us? Was it not under the same man that Enugu-Onitsha expressway was totally abandoned portions of it used for farming?

Today that road is being looked at. I drove down to PH from Enugu this week and I am impressed with the spate of standard revamp this govt is doing on Enugu-PH expressway.

There is even a massive FG ecological project going on in my little village. First since before the war. [/s]

Hatred will not help us. We must demand more but not in this old and unproductive way you have posted.

Abagworo,
Please leave this forum and other Igbo forum.

Nobody says you should not do your dirty job, but please do it in the other threads as clicking on your previous posts easily reveal your dirty job. I just pray Chino does not find you here.

There's a lot of igbo culture being promoted within the igbo-British community. Have a look at the channel.
