Since President Buhari took over from President Jonsthan; Ajudged the clueless one, what has Buhari achieved?

1. INEC:
Jonathan strengthened the electoral processes and this can explain why President Buhari could smell victory because we at the time, had several fail safe measures in place such as the electronic card verification system and freedom of information act that allow people and the press to be at liberty to communicate live information from voting centres.

While the electoral processes were not without errors and manipulation such as under age voters in the North, one would have expected that the current leadership of INEC to very quickly begin to draft measures to limit/- mitigate future occurrences.

The worrisome scenario after Jega's reign is the perpetual failure of INEC to improve on processes that are already in place. It is either elections remained inclusive or marred with controversies bothering on attempt by INEC to rig elections against the wishes of a people hence the blood baths on Election Days.

2.ELECTRICITY:
Privatization of the power sector attracted FDIs into the power sector under the leadership of President Jonathan and all was set to turn the Nigerian story around on power outage. It was well established fact that gas pipeline vandalism was high and frequent under the PDP led government yet the government managed to maintain a decent supply of electricity to the polity. It is curious that no such vandalism on GAS PIPELINES have occurred under the current APC leadership yet supply of power to the polity has remained abysmal.

3. OIL & GAS:
The APC government when they took over power, they criminalized a system put in place by the former government to make sure that products are always available (SWAP), they said it was too opaque, they said that a few individuals are strangling the collective resources of Nigeria. When the hatch man from Exxon Mobil (Ibe Kachikwu) took over, he cancelled it, dismantled the NNPC, made a thousand and one prouncements, Nigerians initially applauded him but time has revealed that he is a man of many words and few actions.

Beyond the double speaking tendencies of the minister, he has replicated the same SWAP policy of the former government but gave it a different name (Direct Sales, Direct Purchase- DSDP), nature of the transactions have remained opaque as the former and the selection process was exactly done as the former; no bidding whatsoever just another pronouncement where government select partners they are comfortable with.

While SWAP kept the polity wet with product, DSDP has failed to meet the supply needs of Nigeria, all government has done is to give excuses why it has failed etc. accountability in the sector has taken a nose dive; IOCs are packing out of Nigeria, local players have withdrawn from importation of product because Nigeria operating environment has become unfavorable under the current APC led government.

#kachikwuslies always loading. Under the former government, we never had to sleep on the queues in our need to buy fuel for our cars and other power needs. This is the case with the current government. Without any direction, they have misspoke severally on how to deal with the situation


4. FOREX:
While the policy to dignify the Naira is a welcomed development, but does it make sense to shut the economy totally down? Why are critical sectors that require forex to import critical items and products ignored. For instance, local oil and gas players who play in the upstream and midstream sectors of the industry cannot effectively carry out businesses of exploration and production as well as importation of finished products into the country because associated cost of importation is high and the dollar is equally not available.

5. FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT:
The current government is contemplating on repealing the FOI act on whose strength they the APC party was able to carry out effective propaganda against the PDP government. In guise of introducing several dodgy bills to the NASS for debate on limiting the power of social media etc. one day our information on NAIRALAND may not be safe anymore. The anonymous nature of the NAIRALAND PLATFORM will be eroded by the government and your safety, my safety may not be assured; take a minute and imagine that day.

6. No Buget as at April and the President may take the entire April to study it. Thus we may have an agreeable budget by May.

The question is: what has gone right under President Buhari, why can't he tap on his strength as a perceived individual with high moral standing to bring sanctity and probity to bear on institutions of government meant to serve Nigerians and not the bidding of ethnic entrepreneurs (politicians)?

i remember last year when my friend almost disown me; for not supporting apc. just i usually tell him "my spirit don't still welcome buhari, as a nigerian president" and next, his shouting on top of his voice, as if i told him am after his. but i knew he's knows nothing about politics. unlike me who is a sorrounded by politians in my family in both major parties.
but when things became tough for him, ending of last year. he had no option to me, via his wife number because he knew i mighut not pick his calls.
as i'm am typing he hasn't payed his staffs for five good months. some one who makes over 5million every two weeks hardly makes upto 500hundred thousand....
though i gave him some advice but i insisted he must let go half of staff from every departments. so he could meet up with their wages.
but closing down the company i don't welcome such idea. because i see it a privilege to gather experience than being controlled by the situation in the country...
but never nevertheless i still believe in nigeria

Answer: Public servant no longer steal as they are used to because of TSA. They and their cronies are hungry. No more frivolity. Their children that are studying abroad now have to live like a common man not as prince and princes at the expense of other Nigerians that pays their taxes. No more oil subsidy, hence milking the country is no more. They NASS assembly who use to make some percentage from budget would not see anything this time around. Therefore, they passed a budget without dealing with the details. Another thing that has gone wrong is that, for the first time in the history of this country, the number 3 personality of this country is being asked to account of his stewardship as Gov of his state. These are things that have gone wrong in this country and a pray more things to go this way.

They have tried blaming Jonathan for all this but the blame game has become stale.
We need a direction and not a reaction.

Leadership requires a steady hand and not a flasher or someone who likes listening to himself speak. A good leader takes decision with collective input with those with institutional knowledge on how things are done.
He lacks the knowledge to drive a highly diversified NNPC; a public sector entity for Nigerians by Nigerians.

Instead he has fired half of those who would have steered the ship in the right direction for him to chart a good course as a leader.

the fact remains "leadership governance is dynamic" most expecially in this century. you don't run leadership base on self-mentality, where i was obviously convinced mr president has gotten it wrong was when he said during his first speech "i belong to nobody and i belong to everybody" what a dumb statement, as long as i' concerned he belong to tinubu; if anything goes wrong between the both of his dispensation would'nt find it easy.
infact almost all the ministers were base on compesation not on meritocracy. who will tell me no one competent enough as petroleum minister.

Don't get me wrong. I am simply carrying out my civic duties as a Nigerian to drive governance discourse so that our leaders can learn to listen more than act like we only exist in election years. I am not fustrated; reasons being that highlighting areas that need attention is all our duty which should be a given and not an act of frustration. Even if you support APC or PDP or a neutral political observer, I believe it is all out duties to criticize government so that things can improve for the better.

I just hope that what Adesina said recently on Chanel TV comes to reality. I'm optimistic that Nigeria will be great again. However the APC led government need more action and talk less. The fuel crisis in particular needs urgent attention.
