The names that end in "us" are usually Latin/Roman. Remember that our parents studied Latin and Classics and speaking Latin was seen as a sign that you are well educated.

Yes, most people that bears such names are Igbo Catholics, then parent give it to their kids. They weren't educated but having Catholic missionaries among them influenced these name and giving their children these names makes them feel "sophisticated and enlightened". Now parent don't give their kids Paulinus, Romanus etc

I gave him a quick tip on how to quickly attract a girl. The first thing that jumped out to me was his name. The name is ehmm , only a certain demographical strata name their kids such names. Hmmm, I'm sorry I might sound vain but I wouldn't want to date a godspower. The name reminds me of people who saddle their children with silly names and adults who aren't insightful enough to understand the power of names. Why won't you stop at Paul, why add lyus?
