The Church was still young and it was very difficult winning souls without showing miracles that evidenced the apostles as one from the True God. Before the miracles of Paul, we had the signs of God through Moses which convinced the Israelites that he was truly sent by God. In those days, (Moses, and then Paul), miracles were necessary for the advancement of God's cause. Without those signs, you couldn't be taken seriously. Imagine Moses going to the Israelites and telling them that God sent him and yet he has no proof but just words of mouth. No one would have believed him.

Now, the same cannot be said of these Adeboye worshippers. These ones are convinced that Adeboye is a man of God. They don't need signs to be sure. They are simply worshipping Adeboye.
