You are very correct the referee made that call just so they wouldn't loose and upon reflection it might have been the right call because the Algerians were already getting violent. If the situation escalated the officials and the super Eagles would have been in danger

Oh, OK go check it out on youtube later. That ref was piss poor all game but the penalty decision takes the cake. gosh, even his lines man and the Algerian players were surprised with the call.
