JayFaddy:Your kids are far too young to be left behind. It's difficult to see why you should be given a visa considering the fact that you are not traveling with them |

Congratulations ma. Without mincing words, this your profile is very strong. Finance, travel history, employment prospect, home tie, purpose of visit and everything checked to the T. Even your village people can't stop this profile from getting approved. Go and prosper Nogen: |

prof1999:Nobody made anything hard. If you ask me, the present situation if things in Nigeria is to be blamed; not whoever is in Canada. The whole world knows we're having it rough in Nigeria now so it's easy to think that you may have other motives besides actually wanting to go to school. And people keep saying this but put it in mind that you don't have statistics of people who came to Canada and those who went to school or not. When it comes to such things I don't think Nigerians are even top offenders compared to Indians and others. Them de hail Nigerians for Canada say them too like school and you feel say na we dodge school pass. |

Lagos2canna:Anyone in any field can get a TRV. All depends on the picture of the vision you paint to the VO. Nogen painted a wonderful picture of a differential theory of learning, a novel idea in educating children taking into account their learning ability and styles. She felt in Nigeria the teaching mode is all about promoting the bright ones and repeating the dull ones. She postulated that the solution had to take into consideration their learning styles, that both the very bright ones and dull ones have the same problem. They both occupy a position in the outlier and are usually misfits due to pressure society puts on them. The differential theory takes this into consideration and tailors the education of a child from the perspective of their ability and styles of learning and encouraging them based on these peculiarities. She felt the solution is not simply telling teachers to teach more and passing the bright ones and repeating the dull ones as is the common solution in Nigeria. Nogen's endeavour to seek to do PHD in Nigerian universities in this area met head storm because this theory is alien to the Nigerian system. But Canada is doing cutting edge research in the area. She wants to study, get her doctorate and come back to Nigeria and teach the theory and train many educators to do the same. The affordability and safety for her family, made Canada among many countries she looked into, an easy choice. You see, when a VO begins to read something like this, it's sweet music to their ears. They feel the compulsion and want to join in the rhythm of the dance. They approve you with immediate alacrity because you are highly favored of God in the first place. |

jnyuwa02:You are right! As a graduate student, you must be part of solution providers. Look at the needs in the society and search for a solution to those needs using your area of study. Would you get that in Nigeria? If no, then look for countries that can help you specialize in your area. My area is a new one in Nigeria and very few international private schools practise that and those in public school do not even know it exists. There are lots of new pedagogical methodologies out there in the developed countries that have been tested and proven effective and efficient for teaching and learning. Research them and see how you can introduce them to our Educational system. Without quality education, Nigeria as a nation has a long way to go, until we began to teach and learn right,we would struggle economically , politically, socially, etc. We must get it right in our educational system. So, those in Education can get their TRV. |

Attaching the stated documents is fine. But be sure your previous work experience coincides with your prospective study. This also is well important and if it does go for a Master program instead of PGD. I hope this helps. dannydenzy: |

Hello guys, I wish to share my joy with all of you on this thread, because just like you i was planning on going to Canada on student visa come January. I applied for masters to several schools but none gave me admission. As at May this year i started applying to colleges in Ontario and got admission. I have read through Canada Student Visa Threads after seeing some seniors here discuss how they got PR via Express Entry. I made up my mind to dump applying for student VISA and went for PR because of the rate of rejection for Student Visa. @Osemigho can bear me witness. His post also inspired me he has his PR now as well. In just a month i have gotten my PPR while my cousin who submitted student Visa even before i created my express entry profile is yet to get his visa. My advise is that, if you have the work experience go for Express Entry. Use the big school fees money as POF. When you get your PR you can easily get admission into your school of choice even at a cheaper rate. Below is my timeline: FSW-O WES – 31 AUG 2017 1st IELTS – 03 AUG 2017 2nd IELTS – 09 SEP 2017 CRS - 441 ITA – 4 OCT 2017 AOR – 10 OCT 2017 MEP – 24 OCT 2017 IP1 – 25 OCT 2017 NA2 – 27 OCT 2017 IP2 - 9 OCT PPR: 11 NOV Thanks everyone for all the contribution. Its still like a dream... I never thought i would get PPR now. Above all... Pray Pray Pray God is the greatest. |

Also, I would like to add that we take our time to prepare our application. Don't rush. I joined this forum last year. I read the Part 1, jotted down some important notes. Been following the discussions here while I still took note of key things. Things you must do! 1. Don't limit yourself. Apply in more than one school. I applied in 3 schools : University of Manitoba, University of Sherbrooke and Laval University. I wasn't given admission in Manitoba. In University of Sherbrooke, I applied for 4 programmes. I got admission for 3 out of the 4. For Laval University, I declined their admission . 2. Make sure you have the funds or get a scholarship (Funding from the school) If you have funding, good. If it is not so much, ensure you have some personal funds to back up your application. If you don't have funding from the school, please take out time to save up enough money..even if you get co-sponsor, it will help your application. 3. Ask questions on gray areas. Don't be shy to ask relevant questions. Don't be too shy to ask those gurus here for help. I reached out to 3 people here : Austinpee (He never replied my messages and I understood he is a busy person), Maziude (He responded immediately and has guided me thus far), Jynuwa (he also responded immediately and guided me on my SOP. He actually revamped it. He also guided me where my brother Maziude had no idea about the process, Jynuwa readily assisted.) I did a lot of back and forth with Maziude and Jynuwa to ensure I didn't make any mistake on my application before submitting. 4. Read current and past posts on this forum and CIC website Please take out time to read , read and read. When you read, you won't even ask a lot of questions and you would get it right in your first application . My Canadian study permit was my first. Never applied before. But it took me more than a year to apply. Don't be in a hurry please. 5. Be honest in your application. Be truthful. Some advised me here not to present my children to the Embassy since they don't need a visa to enter Canada. I vehemently opposed that. How can I use my 2 years olds as home ties only to appear at the Point of Entry with them. I could be turned back to Naija. That's deceit! Also, avoid presenting fake documents. They will find out. If you have been denied visas in the past. Say the truth, it won't stop them from giving you a TRV if you deserve one. 6. Have faith in God. Trust God to do His part. If it is His will, you would go to Canada to study, He will help you provide all that you need to make your application a success. I took a leap of faith a lot . I was in the US in October, I shopped for our winter jackets for myself and the children. I said we need a pair for the flight in December to Canada. I resigned my job . Would stopped working in December. Told them, I would be leaving in December for my PhD. When Jynuwa advised me to apply for a study permit for US as a 2nd option. I was very emphatic with my NO! I told him point blank that I am going to Quebec, Canada for studies not the US. Started preparing my home for the journey long before I even applied. Have faith your application will be successful . |
