It doesn't work that way sorry to disappoint you. Secondly in Nigerian today who rigs the most wins election people coming out to vote is smoke screen to justify the rigging numbers. Thirdly FG is concerned not because they really cared about who rules Anambra but their image on the global stage.

We are growing and learning whenever issues are presented before you try and think of all possible scenarios it doesn't mean that you may be right or wrong but it helps your reasoning.

Telling and threatening people not to vote is a serious crime anywhere in the world. If you try this nonsense in the USA, you will not see the sun for a very long time.

I am even annoyed that Buhari is allowing this rubbish to continue, all the people that have been intimidating the electorate with violence if they perform their constitutional duty of voting should be arrested and dealt with. The government must make voters feel secure from IPOBs threats and intimidation during this election period. What is the government doing to assure voters of their safety during the elections? I am beginning to think government is complicit in this whole issue, maybe they don't won't high voter turn out to make rigging easier.

IPOB cannot decide they want referendum or anything, as IPOB is nothing but group of anarchists lead by one man, they have no authority to demand anything.

IPOB, cannot boycott an election they are not a participant in, you only boycott election you candidate or your party is on the ballot. IPOB can only advise sympathizers not to vote. Not all the 2 million plus registered voters are sympathizers of IPOB.

Threatening another person with violence is a criminal offense anywhere in the world.
Exactly my thoughts too, the FG is complicit in the whole thing inorder for APC to rig themself in, why is the FG not reassuring the electorate of their safety and making sure of deploying soldiers everywhere that day?

Boycotting the election by IPOB sympathizers and members is not the problem but threatening others who would want to vote is the problem now.

Bros use your head, all you have to do is look at the last two pages and you will see who commented last and when they did. You can go straight to their post and you can see all their posts and the time they were made. This is done under five minutes.

You are welcome, I am glad I could help a brother.

In civilised climes, civilians attack armed soldiers with eggs, tomatoes and not sticks, stones, bottles etc.
The soldiers didn't enter people's houses and started shooting them and I'm sure on their way to kanu's house, they met civilians who were going about their normal businesses but we never heard they were attacked by soldiers.
The question you should be asking is why did those killed that day preventing the soldiers on a mission and even dared to attack them first.
I guess you wanted the soldiers to retreat so you and your likes can come on nairaland and proudly say Nigerian soldiers were made to retreat because your men fought them and you call them cowards for retreating

Bro, you're just wasting your time here but just know that there will be a massive boycott of this election if at all people will come out to vote. A lot of factors will make people not to vote:
1- Ipop threat - people will be afraid to come out because of the fear of the unknown and whether you like it or not, you cannot wish away Ipob and its influence in the SE. Even there will be an election, the turn out will be very very low which will affect its credibility.
2- The militarization of the election day- due to the fear that Ipob will disrupt the election, the govt will put a lot of army personnel on the streets of Anambra to avert this but it will be counterproductive as it will scare people more not to come out. This will also play into Ipob propaganda.
3- If Ipob also declares no movement that day then, it will be difficult to see people coming out knowing how other sit-at-home order has complied with.
4- Many Igbos are sympathetic to Ipob- make no mistake to think that a lot of Igbos are not supporting Ipob. If this is not the case, I bet you, Ipob would have been a thing of the past. If you want to test this, just go to any gathering of Igbos and bring up discussion about Ipob, you will be surprised to see the level of support these guys get from Igbos.
In all, the election may or may not hold in Anambra (nobody is sure of that) but what we are sure of is that there will be a massive boycott of the election that may question the credibility of the election. Dialogue remains the key!

Since when did any democratic government used soldiers to disperse people that are protesting?

It is funny how you said civilian climes, the truth is you have never lived in a civilizied society how could you have known how civilized society work? Early this year's civilians turned Berlin upside down during Trump's visit at least I witness that and no soldier was sent to the street riot police was sent in and they did a good job amidst the burning cars, flying bottles etc.

You want me to tell you how anti Trump demonstration went down in Brussels and how it was handled? Yes you have never lived in a civilized society because if you had you wouldn't have typed the trash you posted up there.

Secondly video abounds on the internet of NA brutality on civilians and we are yet to see the videos of all you painted above.

FYI, nobody will dialogue with a proscribed group, not now or never. Election will still hold and if only the aspirants, family members, colleagues, friends with their families and staunch party members with their families and friends come out to vote that day, an election has already taken place.
IPOB is only banking on threatening people not to go out to vote because it's obvious to them that if people are just told to boycott alone, another Enugu scene would be re-enacted in Anambra where queues were seen of people voting thereby reducing the relevance of IPOB in the scheme of things.
Question you should be asking is why is IPOB threatening people who go out to vote, that is a sign of defeat if you should ask me.

You have time to engage that dude in a sensible debate.

I realized that most Nigerians due to years of abuse and hardships they have lost their sense of decency and morals to the extent that they don't see anything wrong in the actions of their abusers.

You are joking, right? If the highlighted was to happen, then it is a big moral victory for IPOB. What do you think is boycott again? If it is only family members and friends of the contesters are able to vote, then know the boycott was 100 percent complied with.
