Guys let's start voting for him(Moses) already, he deserves it. It will spur him on to do more both on club and national sides. Where are the Chelsea fans in the house...let's go there!

The nominees and winner of this award was previously determined by the listeners until c2004 when other Africans began complaining about Nigerians.

Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and Nigerians wrote more letters to the BBC (in the 1990s and early 2000s) than listeners from any other African country. Nigerians also had a habit of voting for any Nigerian player that performed well in the preceding year.

So, after Jay Jay Okocha defeated Samuel Eto'o to win the 2004 edition, the BBC decided that a panel of African football journalists would nominate the top 5 players and then the fans would vote for the winner.

If best player awards were strictly based on individual performances then C.Ronaldo wouldn't have won the best player award last season and seasons before. Moses won the Premier league last season and was a regular for Chelsea and so he deserves the award.

Aubameyang contributed more for BVB than Moses did with Chelsea. Hence, PEA deserves it

What you were able to achieve with your team is paramount. Moses won the EPL which is the biggest in Europe and PEA won a mere German Cup. The same reason ronaldo won the best player award even though Messi contributed more to his team.
