Sad but True.

The difference can be attributed to many factors:
1. In these Countries, social securities facilities exists that are meant to carter for the aged and needy. No such thing exist in Nigeria.
2. In these countries, there are wide knowledge of the benefit of Retirement plans ( Pensions plans) and the citizens key into these plans to secure their future. And not to forget, the Pension Administration works effectively and citizens get what is due to them promptly. On the contrary, People are not widely aware of Pension plans, and worst still Pension Administration in Nigeria is a big Scam. People rarely get their entitlements on time.
3. In these countries where retirees live well, there is a good Public- Private Partnership in establishing Retirement Centres and Facilities for the aged. Huge investments come from both parties. There is also the awareness that the aged are better off when they live and bond together with their peers. Hence Homes for the Aged and similar facilities are established. On the contrary in Nigeria, there are no such things or awareness. Private funds ( mostly looted) are shipped abroad and possibly used to invest and establish these facilities abroad where the Nigeria looters retire to.
4. Proceeds from Taxation are used to establish Social Security Facilities and services, and in these countries people pay taxes. Infact it is a very serious offence to pay part tax , talk less of not paying at all. There are no such things as tax exemptions for foreign investors. In Nigeria, many people don't pay tax. And the most annoying is the tax exemptions granted to multi- National investments and do end up doing huge businesses here and don't pay a dime as taxes and good tax revenue that could have been use to provide social security services are not collected.
5. Lastly (and ironically), in these countries the aged and retirees are respected and treated as "Senior Citizens". They get special treatments and don't pay bus fares and enjoy free services. They live the good life. Hell No in Nigeria. The aged and retirees are shabbily treated as second class citizens and looked down upon. Worse still, the younger generation in Nigeria have a natural tendency to perceive any aged person as a likely " Witch/ wizard" and treated with disdain.

With my valid points, why won't there be remarkable differences between aged Retirees from Nigeria and those of other countries as the picture portrays??

The more reason youths from other regions should stop attacking Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and Biafra. Instead, they should join hands with us and dismantle this wicked contraption so that the emerging countries would start afresh. But, no, you will see yoruba and northern youths on nairaland, facebook and other media platforms attacking us. The funny thing is that, the civil servants among them would be treated this same way when they retire.

We blame and blame the government. Most of the Nigerian's public servants are dishonest and have passion in corruption. How did Most of them discharge their respective duties while in office? Reaping what the showed. Bribery and corruption is a daily practice found in public/civil service. Collection of #1,000,000 from qualified young graduates before they will gain employment. Where and how will these youths get the money to pay the 70yrs old director who may decide to sleep with 22years old girl yet deny her the job.
Am not applauding the government either. No sinner shall go unpunished.

You have made your point but my question is:- where is the proceeds and dividends of corruption when they are still sitting like beggars? Civil/public servants are the government. In my area, if you need uninterrupted electricity for 4day just meet them and pay certain amount and there is light.

These are the reasons Nigerians believe there's hell and heaven. After enough suffering they just want to believe that there is a better place after death (heaven) where dey can enjoy life with little or no labour.

But only few people from the western world believe in heaven and hell bcoz to them they are already living their heaven on earth. They wouldn't hope for any other heaven which they don't know if it truly exists.

the proceeds and dividends of the bribe they collect was what sustained them when government failed to pay salaries as at when due. Imagine being owed 3 months salary, how do you think they would survive? Or compare the current exchange rate, what do you think they could buy 18k minimum wage?

tomorrow you will attack IPOB for fighting the government. Just know that this is how your aunts, uncles and siblings would be treated when they retire..

The ball is in your court to join IPOB and get our freedom so we could all start afresh.

they are the government that abandoned themselves (government is the people, by the people) NOT POLITICIANS. our pension administration is managed by civil servants (NIGERIA BIGGEST PROBLEM) after dey have done every type of corruption during office from sexual harassment to looting and bribery, once u leave office d young man/woman u left behind has a new way to loot, "fixed deposit" after the young man/woman becomes old d new young man/woman left behind find an even newer way to loot, "dealing with politicians" N d circle continues. N u wonder y the new young man/woman steal pension funds just to be able to retire (Maina comes to mind)
