My opinion may seem bias to some 'apologists of fundamental freedom'. First of all,i'm not trying to pass judgment for the sake of doing so,but to bring an understanding to us. Everyone is free to chase after their passion &dreams so long as one finds happiness&fulfillment in what one does. So that the true aim of self actualization can be achieved. [b]However,there's a time and season for everything,most especially as one enters the foray of parenthood,you realize you no longer have a responsibility to just yourself alone,but to those after you as well;If not greater responsibility to them.[/b]It's not lost on me there are good number of personalities in the public eye that do manage their affairs quite well(i.e balance work and family life seamlessly). But what about those who really can't,will it be fair to raise a family and not be competent cater to them in all ramifications;financially,morally,emotionally,psychologically in a way it ought to be. Nevertheless certain priorities ought to change in a way there no discord or imbalance in our wellbeing. Certain things need to give way as you grow and mature in life and this is tied to making practical decisions most especially as a parent. My reaction seeing this and some others whom are also parents doing this..i dunno (to me) i find it quite dishonourable(though i feel many of our people do it as a resultant effect of western media influence augured by our insatiable urge to emulate everybit of their lifestyle at the detriment of our core moral values) and all these for what? Momentary gratification. The world might be entertained by your nudity but if you don't have anything else to offer,the world moves on quickly and you become forgotten like you didn't even exist! *The point i'm trying to make is this,we shouldn't just live selfishly and carelessly,oblivious of the reality that one way or the other people look up to us,as such we need to try as much as possible to lead a life,posterity can reckon with devoid of any sense of resentment or regret. Afterall as the saying goes "An unexamined life,is not worth living" #my2cents On a lighter note,in retrospect; pr'oly 30yrs down the line,would she still beam with pride in seeing old pictures of herself nude and nothing else remarkble beyond that? |
