I don't think you can claim work experience if you are on a student permit even during holidays. According to CIC
"Any period of employment during which the applicant was engaged in full time study will not be included in calculating the period of qualifying work experience (e.g. work experience gained through co-op work permits, off campus work permits while a full time student, and on campus work permits)."

For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post secondary institution, only work experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience requirement (e.g. post-graduate work permit). So, one will only qualify for CEC 1 year after graduation date.

You can check this link for more details:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=29.5.3

cc @Teds

This is for CEC. Also you must have worked within one year of finishing school and in the last three years.

I'm not going that route. People see Canadian work experience and assume you are CEC. I am FSW. Many people I know studying in Canada, that went FSW claimed ALL their Canadian work experience and got the points for it. Especially if study was grad school, and what I have was an open work permit with no restrictions clearly written on it. Work permits differ with restrictions clearly written on them when you receive it in the mail. It details what you are allowed to do or not.

Hello Cochtrane & All,

I'm a newbie and a silent reader, I would like to know if it's possible to be in the pool and get a job offer without IELTS with the plans to sit for the IELTS while getting to Canada.

Just curious, so I heard from a friend, He mentioned that you can get a job while in the pool without IELTS and on getting to Canada you can then sit for the exam. Also hat with the job offer alone you earn CRS worthy of 600 points which supersede the average score require for EE and with the Job offer, IELTS score of 8,7,7,7 would not necessarily matter again.

@vcole, @zandora, @optionese, @40manlappy, @glitteringstar, @kontagious
If I am right, employers don't have access to your EE profile anymore, so there's no way you can get a job offer by mere being in the pool. That simply means the 600 points you're eyeing is off the table, besides maximum points claimable from Job offers now is 200.

Enough has been said about necessity of IELTS, no point repeating those.

Hello NL family. Pls we got an ADR requesting for height and eye colour and also copies of Passport biodata. This did not come with any forms or link to any form to fill. The instruction was to UPLOAD THESE DOCUMENTS TO OUR MY CIC ACCOUNT. Pls if anyone has received this request as decsribed above, kindly assist with how you went about responding. Most people i spoke to had a form attached to this ADR. All we got is the letter.

Hi, I have answered in the bolded below.
Thanks

Kontagious:

Hi Abbylee,

In order to put things in proper perspective, please state;
1.) Your family size. = 1
2.) The face value of Tbills you presented 1.smething in three places for 3 months, then the total rolled over for another 3 months which was presented as a single tbillz cert showing this lump sum, date of investment (and maybe tenor of the investment) mid sept for 3 months, your AOR October 31st .
3.) What amount was received as a lump sum within the last six months about 1m each three times and when it was received btw may and august. From who, family or friend. Mom and Dad
4.) If you are to provide six months statement, will balance of subsequent months before receipt of the lump sum be significantly different to balance after the lump sum. In short, what’s the balance before the lump sum was received.
5.) How many days do you have to respond to the ADR.

Send a mail to London-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca and ldnimmigration@international.gc.ca. Raise a cse as well. I am sure once you do that, the placeholder to upload will be available.

I am not sure how they were able to claim points for Canadian Work Experience while studying full time. I guess they must have ticked "No" to full time study.

From what I have read on CIC website, regardless of whether you are FSW or CEC, any work experience in Canada while studying full time will not give you extra CRS points under Canadian Work Experience. Please note that the work experience might be used to qualify for FSW but will not give you points under CRS.

Check the link below and let me know if you agree with my line of thoughts. Scroll down to Canadian work experience and read the work experience - requirements under the section (Subsection 15(7)).

Hi everyone. I have been looking at this express entry with one eye and with my ielts scores of 8.5,7,7,8.5 in LRWS, my crs score is now 450.

My concern however is the prood of funds. I don't think I can provide the proof of funds all by myself. If I have to apply, a larger part of the POF would have to be transferred to me and then submit a gift deed. I would like to know if the POF may still be requested at later point during the application too.

Thanks

@soulhighman if you've been following this thread truly you should know that some questions shouldn't be asked openly like that. we may have visa officers stumble upon the thread and it can make things difficult for others

Don't worry/bother. If you read my response post to Teds you would know we are saying the same thing section 15(7) says. However, I rather not go back and forth about this. I hear you.

Some people typed on excel and converted to PDF, i guess, it is personal.

The most important thing is submitting the details and anyway works.

Prepare it in a list as follows:
Principal Applicant - Name, Date of Birth, Height and eye color.
Dependents - same as above.

You can do it on word or excel.

to answer your question, first, what is the projected crs score of your family if both principal applicant and spouse write Ielts and if only the principal applicant writes it?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by sleekchic(f): 2:43pm On Nov 21, 2017
It is not compulsory but advisable for both of you to write the IELTS exam as this will boast your CRS. If you feel your score will be OK with only the Principal applicant writing the exam then the dependent or spouse doesn't need to write.

Just to clarify, is 3milion the worth of the treasury bills!? Because if it three million it won't be up to the amount needed as POF for one person. He should have at least 3.6million at exchange rate of 292.

smiley you see, you haven't read page 0, if you had you would know how to calculate it. Anyway, if you feel comfortable sharing your personal details you can write out your age and that of your husband, educational qualification, how many years of work experience and field and specify if either of you have any relative in Canada.

or

check page 0 and you will see a link to the Canadian government Web page to check it

Have you honestly read page 0? Please read at least that page and share any confusing part(if any) or unique case for assistance. Most general inquiries have been answered there.

These sort of questions is why we've gotten to page 500 in just 3 months.
