Joebie: That Algeria draw did the damage. When you cannot beat a team over 20 places below you what do you expect? The Argentina friendly carried just 1point while the Algeria game carried 2.5. Thank God we played that Argentina friendly it raised us a little cos after that Algeria draw our ranking points dropped from 721 to around 650. The Argentina win brought it up back to 670. 1 Like |

Ndidi’s transfer makes KRC Genk richest club in Belgium vanguardngr.com - source Nov 23, 2017 4:51 AM The results on the pitch may not be great for KRC Genk this season, but in the bank they are the richest in the whole of Belgium after the transfer of some of their top stars including Wilfred Ndidi. Genk now have a savings of 43.9 million Euros, while Anderlecht can only boast of 14.3 million Euros and Club Brugge have 3.2 million Euros. Genk raked in 73 million Euros for the transfer of Ndidi, Leon Bailey, Neeskens Kebano and Christian Kabasele. Genk always sell their best players for a serious added value, officials said. “We will remain faithful to our philosophy and strategy, which means training young people and attracting young talents, and occasionally you can go a little further – as with Ingvartsen’s purchase – than in a period when the numbers are less positive”, explained Peter Croonen to Het Nieuwsblad. “We are in stronger position in the transfer market, even when other clubs are interested in our players, we want to keep young top talent with us for longer, also reap the benefits of their development.” 1 Like |

Loew rates Morocco higher than Nigeria By Editor | 23 November 2017 | 4:26 am Germany Coach, Joachim Loew sees Morocco as the most dangerous team from Africa going to the World Cup despite the fact that Nigeria was the first team to make it to Russia from the continent, reports owngoalnigeria.com. Sharing his expectations of the World Cup yesterday, the coach of the reigning world champions said of all the five teams from Africa Morocco stands out because of the quality of its players and football. Germany will be in action in the World Cup 2018 in Russia and Loew while speaking on their chances and options available to him ahead of the championship also shed lights on teams he expect to do well at the World Cup. “We know some very good teams from all over the World are coming, like in Africa Morocco did well in the qualifying series and they will be the team most people would be expecting to pull surprises from Africa,” he said. Morocco, just like Nigeria, stayed undefeated throughout the qualifying series but unlike Nigeria they didn’t concede a single goal. Source - Guardianng |

Ebuehi enters Contract extension Talks with ADO Den Haag footballlive.ng - Source Nov 23, 2017 6:59 AM ADO Den Haag defender, Tyronne Ebuehi is in talks with the Dutch Eredivisie outfit over a contract extension at the club. Coach of the side, Alfons Groenendijk admitted that the offer is due to the rapid progress of the ?21-year-old Ebuehi, who made a positive impression on his Super Eagles’ debut, during last Tuesday’s 4-2 win against Argentina in Krasnodar, Russia. Groenendijk, however, also admitted that Den Haag did not make a move to extend Ebuehi’s contract before now simply because the lad had not been playing regularly for the club. All that is now in the past, and they are wary that a strong showing by Ebuehi with Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia could weaken their negotiation power and make him easier to snatch. Groenendijk said: ”His development has been speeding up, but in the meantime the talks have been running for several months. “We really want him to stay with us, and I have made this known to the club and his agent. But any agreement has to come from both sides. “I have spoken to him, it would be good if he stayed with us for another two years, he has good qualities.” 1 Like |

didn't have time to comment on Yakubu Aiyegbeni yesterday. i wish him many years of good health and happiness. i also congratulate him on an illustrious club and national team career. won't lie not his greatest fan not because of his miss at the 2010 world cup (after all he later scored a penalty in that same match) but wasn't impressed with his overall output for the super eagles. yes he's one of the national team's highest goal scorers but his performances never sent the heart pulsing that said he had a very accomplished career especially in england. 2nd highest african EPL goal scorer behind drogba and great ambassador for nigeria in the premiership. yakubu take a bow 2 Likes |
