Ba Jelili !!!!!!
But I thought you had earlier written that you would drop him for Joel Obi and Josh Onomah. Have you changed your mind again?
The article is about Rohr searching for a player able to hold the ball and I did the needful by giving out this name among few.

However, Joel Obi doesn't have rival yet.

CHINA FA CUP WINNER, OBAFEMI MARTINS ON ROHR’S WORLD CUP RADER

BY BOLAJI OKUNOLA.

Former Super Eagles attacker and scout to coach Gernot Rohr, Victor Agali has hinted 33 year-old Obafemi Martins is still relevant to the national team.
Martins who on Sunday fired his club, Shanghai Shenhua, to win the Chinese F.A Cup trophy, last featured for Nigeria under Coach Sunday Oliseh during the first phase of the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Swaziland.
Agali told Sports Village Square on telephone that both those who prosecuted the winning of World Cup qualification and other players outside the squad have equal chances of making the World Cup provisional list when it is compiled.
“All players who are currently performing to expectation in their respective club sides have equal chance. The coach {Rohr] is a disciplinarian who welcomes players based on merit.
Don’t be surprised to see the likes of in-form Obafemi Martins, Joel Obi and others returning to the team, and I myself won’t hesitate to scout for more legs that will help maintain the good form.” Agali remarked.

I am advocating for Obagoal and a look at Ike Uche the issue of Enyeama is a non starter [b]he is arguably the best goalkeeper in Africa and a top class o exit that.[\b]

What was the average age of the German squad that won the last world cup. If age was a definitive component I would agree with you it's ability chat counts not age.

After all how old is the best player in the World currently Obagoals age mate.
@Bolded, you seem to have forgotten that Enyeama has been off the pitch for almost a year now.. I'm sure every super eagles fan will he happy to see Vincent back in the team.. But is he still fit? I mean is he still the same Vincent Enyeama that was rates as the 6th best goalkeeper in Europe some years agohuh

His fitness level is the most important thing..

You win!!!!! grin

One thing we can agree on is both coaches are at least foreigners grin

But jokes aside, I don't think KC can bench Vardy to be honest, Vardy is a good player definitely. Leicester is actually striker heavy like the coach said Slimani. Okazaki, Vardy, Iheanacho even Musa. I don't know why spend so much money on players that you know can't all play at once.

If Enyeama doesn't get a club in January, there is no way we can take him to the World Cup

Same applies to Uncle Free Agent Ezenwa.....

I really think Rohr should be looking for at least two goalies cuz our supply is looking thin

I dunno why some people are making such a big deal of Martins current form..

Isn't this the same Martins that scores anywhere he goes??
From Newcastle to Inter to Levante to Rubin Kazan to Seattle Sounders... So what's the big deal if he is bagging hat tricks in China??

If Rohr feels he doesn't need him in the team then its totally fine.. He's he had chance with the SE . Now is the time for others to step in!

Seconded. Cos if he's not active there's no point taking him to the world cup. It just reminds me of Rufai in 98 when he came out of retirement to disgrace himself and all the good years he had put in. I recommend Uzoho and Alampasu, they can't perform worse than Ezenwa or Akpeyi and at least they have the advantage of age on their side as they can learn from the WC.

Uzoho just needs to get some more games for Deportivo first team and the No.1 shirt will surely be his(if Vincent doesn't return) .. As for Alampasu, he's one of the numerous players that need to sort out their futures in January, or else no WC for them..

I still think Ezenwa will male the final cut. especially if he impresses in CHAN

Am not saying the guy is not good
I have been following him since his under17 days
I know he has an exceptional talent in fact I rate him higher than Gabriel Jesus and I see him as someone that at that can fill the shoes of one of African greatest striker ever Samuel etoo fils
But let's take a look at it the guys form is getting worse day by day and he is not given enough minutes
But ppl here still hype him by mentioning his previous records like goal per minute ratio
And I am only concerned about his career
From Champions League to relegation battling team
Not to have scored a goal in the premier league this season
Not making the bench once again
Rashford who was compared with him is getting better day by day

Pinnick: How NFF Consulted Wenger, Others To Recommend Coach For Super Eagles
6 November 28, 2017 7:43 am
By James Agberebi:
https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/rohr21_593x400.jpg
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick has revealed how he and his board ran to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger when they were in search of a new coach for the Super Eagles.
Pinnick disclosed this during the launching of the short code *1945#, a campaign by the NFF ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup which was held in Lagos on Monday.
During his speech at the event, Pinnick also gave a chronology of how the Super Eagles secured the 2018 FIFA World Cup ticket, the politics that was played and how Gernot Rohr was finally appointed.
“It has been a tortious journey. Remember we did not qualify for the last two Nations Cup,” Pinnick began.
“And as head of the federation, we always want to take responsibility, we don’t want to apportion blame. We don’t want to tell the world that Chad pulled out last meeting, that a country, that won the AFCON back-to-back, are even more eager. After we decided that we were condemned to qualify for the World Cup.

So what did we do? Between the three of us; Shehu Dikko, Seyi Akinwunmi and myself, we held series of meetings in my house and we looked at the A to Z of everything that could be an impediment to our qualifying for the World Cup.
“We looked at the politics of the game. We looked at the welfare of the players. We looked at the technical crew. We looked at so many things.
“Before I had my ambition of going to CAF executive, I remember Seyi told me that whether I thought if Issa Hayatou was there we would qualify? For two nights I slept and was thinking about it. Cameroon was in our
group, and this was a man who was 71-years-old and possibly if he wins the election, it will be his last time and could be a parting gift to Cameroon off the field.
“We looked at Algeria, they had the best record, they had gone about 13 games unbeaten. We looked at Zambia, AFCON winners. And I saw in the history of World Cup qualifier, the group that we were in, it was the toughest group ever in the history of the World Cup qualifiers any where in the world. Having three of the countries at the last World Cup in Brazil and also four AFCON winners with very rich form. We looked at all these and said we must overcome this.
“First thing we did was getting a coach. Of course. We all remember the name of the first coach Paul Le Guen. To us it was a blessing in disguise because when we decided again
that we wanted a coach, and everybody know that I am an Arsenal supporter, we tried to reach out to Arsene Wenger for a consultation on a coach. We tried to reach out to Gerard Houllier (former Liverpool and France coach). I reached out to so many coaches and technical experts, and one name came to their fore and that was Gernot Rohr.
“I remember someone said whether Rohr would want to leave the lucrative job he had with the German Federation, heading one of their technical groups, to come to Nigeria. He is a very comfortable coach. He has two hotels and he is very happy. Even at a point he was going to coach Madagascar free of charge because his wife happens to come from Madagascar. And
I said I will pray over it and I believe he will come and that was when the journey began.”
Nice one.. Great work... Even if I forget all your work... I wont forget how you turned delta state sport around...

Great work From AmajuPinnick, Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu... God will continue to crown your effort...

Can someone give me one valid reason why Claude Puel put Iheanacho on the bench? Apart from pace, wetin Vardy take pass Iheanacho? For me the only more technically gifted forward is Mahrez, yet Okazaki gets to start b4 Iheanacho? I don't get it. I'm trying my best to not call it favouritism or racism. Some Nigeria World Cup Scoring Facts.

1. Since the Nigeria's Golden Era (USA & France), Nigeria has only managed at most 3 goals at the world cup.
2. Only two players scored for Nigeria at the last world cup in Brazil -- Odemwingie and Musa
3. Same as above in South Africa 2010. -- Kalu Uche, and Yakubu.
4. Nigeria scored only one goal in Korea/Japan '02 -- Aghahowa

Nigeria Scoring Facts in the Road to Russia:

1. 8 players scored all of Nigeria's goals form the preliminary round to the final round.
2. Ogu, Efe Ambrose and Ighalo scored 1 goal each
3. Moses Simon, Iwobi, Mikel and Iheanacho all scored 2 goals
4. Victor Moses scored the highest -- 3 goals
5. A total of 14 goals were scored.
Where is Efe Ambrose the dude need a second chance but ain't sure he will get it... Best of luck to him

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Icon79(m):
On a serious note tho, you guys need to understand all the politics involved in the game these days. Take for instance, before today, Jamie Vardy had gone 7 games without a single goal, but they kept playing him. Imagine what happens if Iheanacho goes two games without a goal.

The other day, Everton's Oumar Niasse was given a two game retroactive ban for diving! Was that the worst dive you've seen? gosh, it wasn't exactly a dive because there was a contact. Do you think that someone like Jamie Vardy or Harry Kane would get the same treatment? gosh, they couldn't even retroactively punish Lukaku after he clearly committed a red card offence last Saturday. They didn't even charge him. But if the tables were turned and he's an African, you can count on a two game retroactive ban.

Bottom line, we need to upgrade our league so that our players can stay home.

See ehn, World Cup is coming, people need to prepare their players so that they can be fit for World Cup. Do you think they will be playing Iheanacho when Vardy is an English International?
The proposition that you present is totally and entirely the product of an active misled imagination.

I can assure you the first priority for every manager is winning. For the teams that are in the bottom half of the EPL they are concerned with maintaining thier EPL status.

The only reason KC is not playing is that he has not delivered. And we may find this hard to believe there are other players the Managers has much more confidence in. Leicester is club that will not carry any passengers, you must deliver or get dropped.

KC has not scored one goal in the EPL this season.
