The fight to take back from the north should not start and stop on Nairaland..... I am ready to take this to the floor of the streets. It also should not end at fielding a southern person, just because he or she is from the south! We should also focus on service delivery, these politicians have really missed up our sensibilities, almost all of them are thieves I don't trust any of them . |

It's very disheartening that we don't understand most politicians when it comes to seeking for power. Have we forgotten the dissapointment we received from the most fortunate SOUTH - SOUTH candidate who later became the most unfortunate president ever produced in the history of Nigeria due to his reclessness in term of embezzlement. GEJ would have been the best alternative to rescue the masses from the political imbroglio. In fact, GEJ must never contest for any election again. No more chance for taaahe south south. Pathetically, OBJ too play along with ATIKU by lavishing our resources catastrophically because of Baba third term and over ambitious ATIKU life style. So, OBJ would have been the best candidate in the south west but he cannot . Let's south west forget the game for now. Interestingly , we need to understand that second term is a political culture in Nigeria and PMB will still emerges if contested due to the strong alliance he maintains with JAGABAN OF AFRICA, who controls the SOUTH WEST. Hopefully , the SOUTH EAST is another region of hope if Okorocha maintains his good rapour with the ruling class in APC and I sincerely believe the team work will yield positively. My submission is OKOROCHA from SOUTH EAST as PRESIDENT in 2023 and AMBASSADOR ABIKE DABIRI from Lagos, SOUTH WEST as the Vice PRESIDENT. I rest my case |

Alariiwo:Correct, cos it just amazed me how they keep shouting Ibo President as if it's not by election, the North, and SW will continue to rule, even SS have a better chance of Ruling than ppl from poto republic. .. They dont have the population, they can't build alliance, yet they asking for the Presidency to be handed to them on a platter of gold. .... @OP when it pleases people like you, you preach Unity, and when it turns your head, you create tribalistic thread like this. You want the presidency, come out, and contest, it's not a chieftaincy title.. . |

It is not about where the candidate is from rather how enlightened, responsible and efficient those who put them into power are at demanding results for their franchise. Not until we see government as a business in which shareholders demand performance from the executives will we continue to be ridden like an ass. Ask yourself what southern politicians at all levels have positively done independently. I asked several folks after the last polls how sure they were that they will get the so called dividends of democracy and the results was overwhelming. Almost every one 'hoped' the Buhari government would deliver and I was aghast. You don't send your child to school and 'hope' he learns, you don't deposit your money in the bank and 'hope' to get is back when required, you don't pay for an international passport and hope it gets processed. Yes you may hope your child passes an exam, you may hope your bank offers you a loan, you may hope to get your passport tomorrow morning but if you cannot distinguish between what is a right and a privilege in this democracy game, what is compulsory and what is discretionary, what is expected of elected leadership, then it doesn't matter who is elected, there will be scant performance and overwhelming disappointment. Democratic values are like electricity in that it is current, volatile and dangerous. They are difficult to 'store', must be used at face value and remain invisible until a demand 'load' is placed upon it. Those who say criticising government amounts to 'hating' may as well say hot oil hates on raw eggs. Who cares... I like mine scrambled.... |

We Nigerians should try as much as it is possible to break the jinx of recycling past leaders. Lets vote a man with pedigree. Young at heart and full of passion. I represent SW but I have flair for Donald Duke. let's just reason out of box for once. |

I hereby encourage the Igbo Nation to stay far away from Nigerian Politics and focus on the economic empowerment of our people and development of our Nation. The restoration of Biafra should be our only political focus, anything less than that is a sheer waste of time. Let Nigerians continue to destroy their oyibo creation, they are calling a country. There is political power, then there is economic power. Political power in all its “glory” has its major flaws and limitations, but economic power goes a bit further. I challenge any person, outside mental health institution to show me that group/tribe/Nation that moved from abject poverty to affluence in this world through politics. My people stay away from Nigerian politics! |

TheKingdom:@bolded How shameless of you for saying this. In 2011 when middlebelters/northern minorities delivered 8 states to the Southern GEJ, where were you? In 2015 elections, Southern Kaduna delivered more votes to your GEJ than a whole Abia state (with Aba the most populated Igbo city). Wht a shame. Should middlebelters die for Southerners first? What has the south done for middlebelters to enforce a sense of brotherhood? Never you in your life insult middlebelters! |

Op says vote our own...we all know this country is already divided but simply pretending. If one nigeria exists, there will be nothing like vote for our own. We are in this mess together, without revolution, nothing will work here. Let every young person concentrate on international businesses, and forget about Nigeria. The day you put nigeria behind your back, you will start been happy. Just focus on dollars or intl currencies, solve all your needs yourself and forget 9ja. By next decade, i might not know who the president of nigeria is. |
