Good Morning Nairalanders. I couldn’t access the USB Mass Storage mode whenever I try connecting my phone (Tecno Y2) to my laptop. At first, I thougt the problem was from the USB cord but I've tried 3 different cords now and the problem still persist. Then I found out that the problem was from the USB computer connection settings. My phone only charge whenever I connect it to my laptop via USB cable. It seems my USB computer connection setting is on "Charge only" mode. I tried changing it to "Mass Storage" but I couldn't access "USB computer connection" under settings.

Have you tried connecting your phone to another computer? Maybe the fault lies with your computer.

And if you connected your phone to another computer and still doesn't work, then do a factory reset to restore your phone to its original settings. This might work.

The problem is from my phone.. Other phones are connecting with my Laptop via usb cable and I can't connect my phone to other laptops via usb cable.. That was why I came to the conclusion that the problem is from my phone. It seems it cannot be connected to systems via usb cable. I'm currently using Bluetooth, but I'll use Xender if I want to transfer big files.

This is not a problem with your phone.
You only need to install the usb device on your computer.
Go to device manager, and you will see your phone, right click on it and click on update driver, it will bring options like 'Automatically search for driver' and I want to manually search for driver (This is not the actual terms). Choose manual, then click on MTK USB device. After installation, you will be able to access your files from your computer.
If it doesn't work, I will buy you a bottle of malt
