I learnt how to cook from my mother & my father infact sometimes my father do cook for the family.

I grew up seeing my mother and my father in the kitchen,they both cook together it either my mom or my dad anybody cook..

No man in Nigeria (Responsible man) would look at his wife cooking and not appreciate her.. I don't know where you are drawing these assumptions from but pls recheck them

Thank God you said sometimes, any one can cook no doubt, just the same way anyone can provide for the family but even from your home you can see the division of labor that goes on there.
It's just like running a company, each department has different roles but will and must compliment each other to achieve the best goals.

If we should say our ladies shouldn't bother about cooking because anyone can cook, then we should train our boys to forget about Hustling to make a living because anyone too can provide for the family.

We both know this is wrong.

Well I don't blame some men here,they believe it the responsibility of the ladies,which is absolutely wrong.Anybody can cook,nobody has a responsibility of cooking,cooking is more of like a choice..

Find the shoe that fits and and stop looking for one that is all shades of wrong for you personally.

Your woman must cook for you? Find a woman who believes its her role to do such.

As a woman, you don't like to cook? Find a man who doesn't consider this to be a deal breaker.

well i will not crucify you for your opinion but this is mine. thier is no marriage without obligation and that my friend is a fact, it is the thin line that separates married couples from boyfriend and girlfriend period. so yeah when i marry u you i will feel that you obligated to do certains things for me and the moment you deny me those things then this will happen.
1- since we are equal and no obligation then you must pull your own wieght in the marriage , house rent get split into half and if i own the house you pay rent to me period.
2- you dont watch satelite tv in my house and if you
must then you must pay half or go and install your own
3- we must contibute equal pay to buy foodstuffs and hire maid that will cook for both of us.
4- i aint buying you a car ( what a man can do a woman
can do better) go and buy your own car.
5- when the kids come, every expences concerning them
get split into half. INFACT, IN THE SPIRIT OF EQUALITY EVERYTHING WILL VE SPLIT INTO HALF.

These days, for a man to ascertain which kind of woman can cook is not written on the forehead.

People who size me from far think I cannot cook. But those close to.Me marvel at my cooking skills. At home am down to earth and homely. Outside the four walls of my home, you will perceive me as a shakara and no nonsense babe but at the end. I still do not joke with home made meals.
Do u know my cleaner who's married with kids cannot cook. The day she came to my house and I entertained her, she was just like wow! Aunty you can cook o. Please can you show me next time how u prepared this fish peppersoup. It's so tasty.
I was surprised, and I replied so u can't cook peppersoup! She shook her head and I sighed and I said OK no wahala I will show u. But wait what can u cook.
She said stew ,ewedu that's all. While other type of meals, she buy at food vendors.

I was so shocked that day

But if u see her ordinary looking, very plain lady and an illiterate join.

It's the woman's duty to take care of meals in the house. The husband can help if she's indisposed.

My fiance knows whenever we spend the weekend at each other houses . I make sure he's fed well with home made meals and at my place enough can beers to make him feel at home ,after a nice tasty meal. Most times he doesnt feel like going back home lol

That's one way of keeping a man who appreciates and truly want to be kept.

I just hope some ladies will calm down and learn cooking skills as an added attribute to what they have to offer.

These days, women are just as educated as men are, so a woman can also be providers. Both can provide for the family and both can share household duties. It's not rocket science really
What feminists are against is the traditional gender roles where women are EXPECTED to be a quiet obedient housewife who's there to bear children, cook and clean and where men are EXPECTED to be the ones to get a job and pay all the bills. Feminism is about having the right to choose the kind of life that you want, and if that's being a housewife or the breadwinner then fine. If both the man and woman, earn a living , then they can both share the household bills and household chores. I don't get what's so hard to understand

I understood and learnt with some years down the lane, that most men love chilled beer and tasty home made meals. And it's my way of making him choose me amongst his numerous female toasters. And it worked

And above all he's a nice caring guy. He deserves it.
