Good morning gurus in the house. Please I need your candid advise. I applied for my study permit in October and till date there has been no update on my application except for my biometrics. I am to resume by Jan 3, 2018 and I already deferred from September 2017 so I can no longer defer according to the school rule. I am scared because I do not want to lose my admission. Please can the house advise me on what I can probably do in this case? My university is UNBC. Thank you

There is little you can do at this point. Your application is not beyond the processing time, so writing the VOs will only aggravate them, leading probably to a negative impression on your application. I will say just wait and if your application goes beyond 20 weeks, write them to expedite action. If they really want to approve you, they will ask for a new admission letter. The fact that an admission has expired has no bearing on the outcome of CIC decision. If they want to approve you, they will ask for new admission letter. You can always reapply for admission if the current one elapses. If you got in before, chances are very strong you will get in again.

Ps: You were accepted for fall 2017, why did you wait till October to apply? Partly this is your fault.

Hello house, on the 21st November, 2017 I did my upfront medical and that is the same day I did my biometric and submitted my study permit application. Three day later, I got a call from the clinic that my medical was OK and they have submitted but up till now it has not reflected in a cic account. Is there any reason for me to worried? My resumption date is January 3rd.
PhD Biomedical Engineering, University of Manitoba.

This problem happens quite often and there is no reason to worry. You can send a quick email to Accra alerting them to update your status to medical passed. If not, you might get a message eventually from them asking for your medicals even after medical was already completed and passed. Sometime the system is crazy like that, better to proactive handle the problem earlier than later.

Absolutely you need to present statement of account even as a fully funded prospective student. Cover all grounds and make your application full proof, leaving nothing to chance. VOs do deny people for lack of asset in country of residence. Your money in the bank or property can help put to rest that ground of denial. Even as a fully funded candidate you have to meet that ground, tie in country of residence ground which is another way to look at it.

Good morning, Pls I want you to help clarify this... Although, have submitted my study permit... My sponsor who happens to be in Canada had already paid my tuition fees, gave me his pay slip from the company he works with, but my question is that he did not give me his statement of account rather, he got a letter from his bank in Canada stating when he opened the account and the amount that is presently in his account........ my concern is no statement of account?

Why no statement of account, what is he hiding? I think the pay slip and balance letter from the bank and initiative of paying fees in advance is good. But I will recommend if he cannot submit statement, to do an affidavit of support and for you to email it to Accra soon. Thanks!!

Thanks you.

Write a compelling SOP on your passion and what motivated you to want to undertake a difficult and expensive trip to Canada, rather than studying it in Nigeria. In essence, answering the question of why not Nigeria is critical. Why not a masters degree, why PGD!!

Bro...
I'll send you a PM pls.
It's all about SOP...

If you don't have anything, don't manufacture evidence, just work on an inspirational SOP that shows potential of promise to Nigeria. Many funded applicants have gotten visa without such proof of money in the bank or asset.

Please, I need advice and recommendation from professionals in the business/management field or industry. Which of these two is more suitable for an undergraduate student?

1. Bachelor of Business Administration (4 years, No Co-op required)

2. Bachelor of Commerce (5 years, Co-op available)

I would be very glad to get an insightful response. God bless. smiley

I noticed the rate at which application is processed has reduced drastically, what could be the cause?

From 22 weeks to 20 weeks is your measurement of drastic? Or did you mean something else?

Applications are processed as received, so it depends on the number of applications.

Good evening everyone,

I wanna share my testimony to at least encourage someone on here. I’ve been a silent reader for sometime now and my application just got approved so it’s only normal I come to give the usual shoutouts and all lol.

Well I applied for my study permit application on the 29th of September at vfs Lekki by 5PM i was the last person to submit that day after begging and begging to be let in.

I just wanna thank God after writing jamb and jupeb twice passing and hearing stories and sitting down at home doing sales girl for my parents as all hope was already lost.

Submitted 29th September
Medical call 3rd November
Had some complications so I had to repeat twice
Passed medicals 16th and status changed to approved today.

HMU if you’re in Kamloops please. Thank you all uncle Mazi Austin Jnyuwa Glam and all the contributors. And congrats Abiodunne God is never late.
