You are joking. I went to pick up a car i just bought from kano recently. I had my left leg on the dashboard for more than 90% of the time. The roads are second to none. Driving from Abuja to Lagos which I always do has only two good spots until Julius berger and RCC did part of lagos-ibadan. Gwagwalada to lokoja and Akure to ilesha. If you go up north u will be amazed. That said, go and check their IGRs. One senator told me recently to go and check out agriculture in 3 main states in the north when I got there i was amazed. Check out their IGRs monthly compared to the west and south. You are talking culture i'm telling you what is happening there. They are alleviating bro. And the ..ing is a process. continuous action. Like I said just sidown and watch the north. I'm from the west i know what i'm saying.
It's a completely different environment, they don't have the same geography as the south - the roads should be easier to build. They also don't have as many cars or as busy, thus fewer lorries tearing up the roads.

The south-west outside of Lagos is a disgrace in terms of IGR but the north outside of Kano isn't better and even Kano barely performs better than Edo state that has a much smaller population and less than half as many LGAs. There are several southern states with larger IGRs than Kano despite much smaller populations.

You want to keep talking about Kano but somehow ignore the entire north east and what it is. As well as Kaduna state and the lack of security.

Which other states are developing?

What are they doing about weaning themselves off southern money?

What are they doing about ensuring that children are not raped and then told that they are 'married'?

What are they doing about desertification?

What are they doing about overpopulation?

For you to have asked that question means you don't know the north. Kaduna is, kebbi is, Jos is, Nasarawa is geometrically those plagued with boko haram are rebuilding like adamawa, bornu etc. If you know the massive exportation these states are involved in, you won't ask me such a question. Go to bauchi as well. And to your question like this they are doing a lot. Investors are coming in massively to some parts though for security reasons few but down south investors are running away. West same thing except for Lagos and Ogun. Bro just leave matter for Matthias.

When the south and west were going to stop the parasitic dependence on the north back in the years of the pyramids, the north never knew attention was shifting to oil and thanks to bad administraors that completely abandoned and dumped agro that was highhandedly feeding us as a nation before. The north are retracing their steps now and going back to it. when south and west wake up to discover that a barrel of oil goes for 5 dollars and the cost of production alone goes for 15 dollars, it might be too late.

That 5 dollar barrel isn't coming any time soon.

But I patiently await the day the north stops being dependent on southern money.

Stops the practice of child rape.

Stops overpopulation.

Deals with the malnutrition issue.

Deals with the almajiri issue.

Stops cow herders from killing farmers from Kaduna onwards.

Pushes for fiscal federalism.

When that happens then Nigeria might progress. The other option is for the north to go its own way, thus unburdening the south from its fecklessness.

I dont hear people from the North complaining about the issues you raised. The elite benefit from the status quo and the masses are too ignorant to understand the implication of their backwardness so if you waiting for the North to change you will wait forever. For the North, Oil money is free money and since they are not really interested in uplifting their masses, the little Oil money they get is enough to distribute amongst their elite...........and by the way the longer you wait the more the south themselves become like the North i.e a large uneducated (or poorly educated) ignorant bunch, largely unemployable and incapable of adding real value to an economy besides consumption only really useful come election time.. and as a ready market for indomie, recharge card, salt, sugar, coke etc etc.

That is a very naive thing to say.

The north and the south are very different culturally - hence why the north sees nothing wrong with child marriage. Nothing wrong with almajiri and nothing wrong with refusing to invest in schools only to use a similar amount on pilgrimage.

Ideas divide us. Especially those that have been indoctrinated into us from birth, as is the case with Islam and Christianity - two very dangerous, stupid ideas that have been allowed to destroy west Africa with Islam having been the most dangerous by quite some distance.

P.S.
Why are you bringing up red, blue, white etc and we're talking about Africa?

You cannot break out from Nigeria for 2 reasons

1) There is no provision for a referendum in our constitution

2) The north has more votes in parliament to will veto any change

We all know Nigeria is a failed project, The majority at the top know this so everyone is just trying to take as much as they can before whatever happens happens, nobody is thinking about the country because they know it is unsustainable. The problem is that the majpority of Nigerians who have the most to lose, i.e the masses, the youth are too docile and would gladly sell their futures for N2000 come election time. It is not a northern problem it is a Nigerian problem, Politicians in the south are just as bad and the truth is even if the country split up it is these same politicians that will govern the seperate units in the same manner they are governing now. You think Okorocha will not waste money on statues or appoint his sister as commisioner for happiness if he was president of Biafra? You think if Ibori was president of Biafra or Souther Nigeria he will act any differently? The problem with Nigeria is you and I we are too docile and because the politicians know nothing will happen they continue. We elect useless corrupt leaders and then we complain. Are the Deltans not the same people that gave Ibori a convict a hero's Welcome? Are we from the SW not the same people that have elevated Tinubu and Kashamu, people with dubious drug pasts to the status they occupy now?

bro forget this back and forth. no place is Nigeria is fit to be habitable. and you said investors are running away from west bro that's a blatant heresy. if investors are running from south we won't be out of recession. we are out of recession because investors have confidence in the economy. you can tell me the north is trying to grow but haven move round the northwest except kano I can tell you this people are joking as far as development is concerned. I'm not fooled by the governor inspecting project around 1am. but we must commend their leap in achievement in sectors of agriculture .

Mr say what you know don't misconstrue fact. the south and west were never depending n the north at any point of history. those days were the time of regionalism where every region cater for herself and contribute a certain percent to the center. as cocoa was to west same was palm oil and coal was to east.

The bolded is an absolute myth and fabrication and has never, ever, EVER happened. Ever. Right from colonial times, long before independence and long before the discovery of oil, the South has always been considerably more productive than the North and the very reason for the amalgamation was so the South of the country could subsidize the North. That nonsensical claim alone shows you're likely a Northerner pretending to come from the South. There has never been a time the so-called "groundnut pyramids" of the North ever subsidized the South of this country.
