Thanks for all the congratulatory messages.
Also, congrats to all ITA recepients.
Hi, thanks for your previous response. GS posted a comment she got from a forum that the your action is required thing is a technical glitch. I got no mail of ADR, no open link in the view submitted application both for express entry and permanent residence. The thing is that this 'your action is required is showing both for pr and express entry column. If I say I am not bothered eh na lie.
I sent them a mail, hoping to hear from them soon.
The only mail I got is update as regards the UCI I was given. BG is showing your application is in progress
Med has changed from you don't need to if you need. I pray it gets resolved soon.
Thanks

Most people's points will be automatically deducted. @Bolded, was it before getting an Invitation to Apply?

Birthday was April 4th, ITA was April 19th. Once you submit your profile to the pool, nothing will change automatically. It's your duty to ensure that info is up to date. If something changes, you have to update and resubmit. Prior to this, I had also expected the deduction to be automated, so I was a bit surprised when I got that ITA.

If you have been given UCI, meds passed shouldn't be too far away. Yeah, GS is right, my last post also said if there's nothing in there, it's likely a technical glitch.

I checked Canadavisa forum and realized that some people had the same issue too. Some people's points were automatically deducted while other people's points were not. I agree with you. An applicant must always ensure that his/her information is up-to-date.

Prior to my experience, I had also expected the deduction to be automated, so I was a bit surprised when I got that ITA.

Hello everyone

I’m new here! Been following your threads for about 4 days before officially joining. Kudos to this platform and those assisting people on here.

I am one of those anxious few who have recently gotten their ITAs and are trying to make sure they get it right for a PR.

I would also like to ask questions and I’d appreciate a kind reply.

1) in relation to the POF (my major worry), I would like to create a Fixed deposit of about 1.5m with gtbank and my mum wants to gift me with about 2.3m. My major concern is, would the creation of the new fixed deposit raise a red flag? If that would be the case, what is the most advisable supporting document to attach to the new investment report? Secondly for the gift from my mum, what would be the best way to present proof of the gifted amount without further questioning from the CIC Official?

2) I had been denied a UK visa about 4 years ago. Is this likely to affect my application in anyway? And will they require further documentation for my other travel records?

Can someone please assist with these difficulties.

Thank you

Welcome to the thread!

1. Attach your bank statement to your POF. That should sort your worry about creation of the fixed deposit. For the gift from your mum, use a gift deed to take care of that. Check here for details on gift deed and for templates you can use.

2. A previous visa denial will not affect your application. Just make sure to answer "Yes" under the question requesting this information while submitting your application. You may also have to provide the reason you were issued a denial. It doesn't affect your application anyways. Since it's a UK denial, you may end up with the dreaded London Visa Office. Nothing to be scared of; just put together tight documentation under travel history.

Wish you the best.

It would seem for some people their profiles are automatically updated after their birthday, but for others they have to change it manually. In all, the instruction on CIC's website is for every applicant to ensure that any change in circumstances is updated on their application before accepting ITA. Changes could be related to family composition, age, etc. Not doing this could amount to misrepresentation.

Meanwhile, fun fact. The majority express entry applicants come from India. Nigeria, on the other hand, is rather well represented. There was an increase of over 900% in applications from Nigeria from 2015 to 2016. We could be seeing an even bigger increase by the end of this year. And to think there were people from France too!

That's strange though as ours changed automatically.
Anyways congratulations on your PPR.

Prior to my experience, I had also expected the deduction to be automated, so I was a bit surprised when I got that ITA.
My first dive into the pool was in March 2016. Immediately it was September 27 2016, I got an email to check my CIC profile that there had been an update. When I checked, I saw my CRS was -5. And on opening the attached PDF, they referred to my birthday as one of the likely causes of a drop in my CRS. It was deducted automatically.
So if anyone's is not automatically deducted, and got ITA, it might be a technical glitch and like u did, the right thing is to reject that ITA if d new CRS wouldn't have gotten the applicant an ITA initially. Otherwise, na waste of $550CAD application fee because it will result in automatic rejection.
So it's either automatic deduction OR automatic rejection. grin

I am actually talking from personal experience so I know so. I got an ITA which I had to reject because my birthday had just passed and my score was not automatically reduced. You have to manually update the date of birth field (like refreshing)before your score is recalculated.

Thank you all for the response

Can't wait to see 2017 figures. Na bomb! CIC should also be ready to employ more VOs for 2018 work o..., because ALL my siblings, and Hubby's siblings are turning in their applications next year plus interested friends and colleagues. If u see d way I market this Canadian PR, you will think CIC is my employer and like I'm on a kind of marketing target to bring in customers. grin

What if ITA comes just before ones birthday is this an issue?i.e ITA comes say few days before birthday.

If ITA comes few days before ones birthday is this an issue, would i have to reject it as my documents would probably not support the age ITA was issued?

Thanks so much Cochtrane for this information, but with regards to the bank statement to be attached to the POF, the only bank statement I currently have with an average inflow is my company account. I don’t have a personal one I use actively. Is it very necessary to attach the bank statement? Or can something else be attached. A letter of explanation maybe?

Secondly please what do you mean by tight documentation under travel history?

Thanks

Lol. Correct. And I'm sure you ain't the only one. Many skeptical people often become firm believers once a member of the family secures this PR thing. And because it's all online, it's far easier and more convenient than the earlier application methods. 2017 numbers will definitely be off the roof. Nonetheless, I suspect India will still carry the day.

I meant you should use the bank statement from which you are gonna extract the fixed deposit money. Or how are you gonna get this money?
Yes, you can use a letter of explanation.

By tight documentation, I meant putting everything in order.
