It will depend on specs and efficiency. Torque and ruggedity, Cost and price.

For the first time I saw our politicians with innoson vehicle (a hummer bus and a G wagon type of car) in owerri. And to all u saying one trash or d other. try produce common sachet water by ursef then come back and talk then I can take u serious. Foul mouthed fellows that can't even package ordinary garri in a decent package.

Where is the competitive advantage here? The prices mirror their foreign competitions who currently hold a brand loyalty advantage.

The ONLY strategic advantage is for them to significantly lower their prices (at least to break-even) to encourage local/indigenous market, focus on revenue rather than profits and enjoy an inevitable long-term economies of scale.

IMHO, the prices aren't affordable enough to permeate through the average Nigerian living standard.

All in all, great move by Innoson!

This man should have allowed the Chinese (BAIC) to invest fully in the assembly plant not manufacturing as he usually claimed!

You're very correct, Sir. The high inflation rate would be a big issue. The cost of living doesn't correlate with the living standards hence, still very high prices from an average Nigerian perspective.

If they can give room for creditors that will bring a rapid growth in the industry.

3M is affordable as long as it's brand new

There are certain things you don't do as a business man. A N3m car is not considered as cheap in this part of the world. How do you face the competition with other "cheap" Chinese brands in the country with no second hand value?

Good news. I hope the low cost they are talking about will be around around 1.5m o. Because anything higher than that, Nigerians go prefer to buy a tokunbo 2011/12 Camry at 3m than to buy Innoson for 3m o.

Modified: 3m won't fly easily. They should have considered 1.5m - 2m if they really want to get to the mass market. Average Nigeria go buy a tested and trusted Camry 2003 over a new Innoson even at 1.5m.

I got very angry when i saw 3 million, how on earth is that "affordable"...when 800k will get u a tokunbo camry 2.2, old but it will do the job.... he shud have pegged it at 1.5. then he wud just sit back and watch Innoson chase out Toyota.
