truly, the most A E S T H E T I C Fighter of the jet-era. [Prove me wrong - Protip: You cant]

We live in this age of flying-laptops. The Grip, the F-35, the Su's, the Super-Hornets.

But never again, will there be the true purity of the clean-fighter. From the legacy of the Spitfire, the Mustang, the BF109E-F. They evolved: the the F-16, the Mirage, the Mig 29, the F-5.

Its the end of the era. Yet we mark it with a wimper.

Shocking details of how 5 Kenyans were sold as slaves in Libya, where they went to join ISIS

An intelligence report seen exclusively by the Saturday Standard details the sordid journey of five Kenyans from the relative calmness of their homes to the rough and tumble world of the Libyan slave market where, together with thousands of other African immigrants, they were sold to the highest bidder. The five, through an elaborate trafficking route set out and charted by one of Libya’s most notorious and feared smuggling groups, the Magafe Network, left Nairobi and embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. The ended up on the dusty, windy Libyan desert where they were sold for next to nothing, leaving their families in turmoil and concern. “The Magafe Network lures unsuspecting and naïve youth under the pretext of offering employment and money while others are enticed by the Jihad narrative and the fight for a Muslim caliphate,” the report reads. “Once they successfully have the gullible candidates, they link them up with the Kenyan associates of the Magafe Syndicate based in Eastleigh who would later transport them through their various routes to Libya.” The five, excited by the promise of thrill, monetary gains, a life of freedom and relative abandon as members of terror group ISIS, left Nairobi through one of the most common and most profitable trafficking routes for recruiters. With the allure of a renegade life beckoning, they left Nairobi and headed to Busia by road. They then crossed over to Uganda and made their way to Kampala before snaking into Juba in war-torn South Sudan. Their next destination was Khartoum before eventually making it to Libya. However, the promises of the life they envisioned was not to come. The harsh Libyan climate and an arduous training regime by the terror group saw them lose favour in the eyes of their would-be employers. “They were found to be no longer useful to the terror group and eventually sold off in the slave markets,” the intelligence report says. “It is believed that the fallout was not only as result of the Kenyans not being able to easily adapt to the harsh weather conditions but also from the fact that some of them wanted out.” Once one joins the groups, they cannot leave voluntarily. The Libyan slave markets have been described as some sort of vortex, where time moves backwards to the days of slavery when grown men and women were hawked to the highest bidders.

Hot News: Nigeria has just approved another 1 billion dollars for immediate weapons acquisitions.
Where are those questioning our alternative source of funding for matters of National Security? This is not budget spending. When the Giant decides to rise just hide. Expect the soon arrival of penciled down hard assets for the Navy, Air Force and the Army.

You beat me to it, we dey busy drinking celebrating this awoof cash $ 1 billion new war fund announced on TV by Edo state governor Obaseki in Abuja and I forgot to post it here. We hope T-90 tank will appear 2018-2019, we don tire for Nigerian army Toyota photos on this forum. Most important is that money must vote 5% for Proforce ARA MRAP and Nigerian army engineers locally made ATV to be perfected for real combat 2018-2019, some 10 gallant Naija soldiers drove their Toyota or whatever vehicle to avoidable death by road IED explosion last week, but we also captured 400 Boko Mad Rams and their families this week in lake Chad area. Please save us from Toyota over flow and our second hand T-72 tanks now breaking to pieces like tokunbo rustic scrap metal

You were warned. Stop mention of the Covert unbeknownst to warm bodies here. Obviously the pain of evidence of our humongous discreet defence spending every other year was too much for you to bear that you couldn't help it but make a re.tarded retort. Just go and hide as ordered by SupremeCourt that's your only option. Nigeria is your boss period.

Shebi! The news hot I let am drop.

The weekend has just been sweet with the surprise bombshell from Abuja. The country works like a mystery according to tdayof. We didn't even touch or mention other sources of emergency funding like NNPC, NPA etc. Nigeria is not feared for nothing. If them like make them dey buy useless shiny toys wey no get teeth. Look at Egypt buying billions of debt of metal without most sophisticated software to deliver crucial weapons. Algeria has had to complain and even threaten in the past to return Russian buys until Russian appeasements. When we decide to show hand world news go dey quake.

You might tell us the merits of the T-90 cos for me it's just the T-72 with upgrades. It might be a stretch but I fancy the Leopards. The Germans are quite good dealers. We can home incorporate some sensitive tech as always on any purchase not in the T-90/Leopard range assuming they won't sell. We know how to do these things. You know Nigeria won't buy without win-win obligations.

You put the money right on it as Proforce should get massive buys of the ARA Thunder. So far it's proving better than those from yonder.

I disagree with Barineh. NA Aviation Corps needs those birds. They are great force multipliers and quick-kill assets and advantage for taking out enemy armour in open warfare.

Things will become clearer in the days ahead but clearly hard assets are coming in and soon since some had already been under production following secret orders.

The Navy will be interesting to watch. Tdayof may shed more light for us on the envisaged Senate funding. Methinks the Army and Air Force will benefit more from this first tranche of 1 billion dollars of the present Buhari administration following the one of 2014/15 under former President Jonathan.

We usually see foreign military big birds in Johannesburg, making Embassy Supply Runs to Pretoria, but Cape Town? Outside a military exercise or test at AFB Overberg?

My soldiers friends are the ones silently calling for Abuja to buy them T-90 but cannot talk loud in front of superior authorities. They are asking me to move a social media campaign for this $ 1 billion new war funds so we dont see T-72 replacing T-72 in a stupiid decision of tokunbo replacing tokunbo. Naija boys fear a Syria or Libya level of hi-tech insurgency, they say terrorists heat RPG will destroy Nigerian T-72 tanks and roast all the four troops inside. They said T-90 survived all heat RPG and anti-tank missiles in Syria, which Iraqi government saw and ordered 300 T-90 in 2015. If Nigeria plays the fool now, Boko Haram may be planning solution to our T-72 advantage and neutralize it 2018-2019, so we must stay ahead of the enemy with wide gap.

The t90 is not the most advanced t72 varriet any more. The most advanced version is the T72B3

I the T90 is just a T72 in fact it was first called the T72 but but the name changed to make it seem more modern.

All so the T90 defence is less for RPG and more for ATGMs and tanks. It fitted with a laser warning receiver that when triggered turn the turret to the threat, activates a IR jammer that through of older Gen ATGMs (that is actually being removed from the upgraded T90s) and fires smoke. The aim is warn the crew, face the srtrongest armor to the threat, blind the threat and the gun is aimed there to so you can kill the threat. For RPG the T72 all use ERA.

One more thing T72 don't have a loader the crew is commander, gunner and driver.
