Nigeria's GDP was close to $600 billion but forex scarcity caused the naira to fall from N165/$ to N520/$ and as forex becomes more available we now see the naira rising to N360/$. Our reserve keeps growing and soon a new exchange rate would be announced.

IMF killed Egyptian currency and inflation is still over 30%. Egyptians economy is seriously in trouble and GDP is currently about $200+ billion. How will the economy triple in just 2 - 4 years?

Consumer prices in Egypt increased 26 percent year-on-year in November of 2017, compared to a 30.80 percent increase in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since December 2016. Annual core inflation fell to 25.54 percent from 30.53 percent in October, the lowest since November 2016. Inflation soared to a record high in July 2017 after the government cut fuel and energy subsidies. The central bank last raised the key interest rates by 200 basis points in July. Inflation Rate in Egypt averaged 9.37 percent from 1958 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 35.10 percent in June of 1986 and a record low of -4.20 percent in August of 1962. link https://tradingeconomics.com/egypt/inflation-cpi

It can happen Bro. In 2012 IMF said Nigeria will overtake SA in 2020, we overtook them in 2014.

Mwewe used to integrate satcom terminal for small UAVs

Paramount Advanced Technologies’ (PAT’s) Mwewe unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been used to get type approval for Cobham’s Aviator UAV200 satellite communications terminal.

Cobham SATCOM has been working on the development of a very small, low weight Inmarsat Swift Broadband terminal specifically targeting small tactical UAVs. The intention was to allow airframes with a long endurance to optimise their use in Beyond Line of Sight mode (BLOS), using a lightweight Satcom terminal (weighing only 25% of previous generation units) with communication via the Inmarsat satellite network and base-station. As a result, Cobham claims the Aviator UAV200 is the world’s smallest, lightest Inmarsat UAV satcom solution at 1.45 kg.

PAT’s involvement was to integrate the Aviator UAV200 terminal into Mwewe. Provision was also made to send commands via the Satcom network to Mwewe (such as to update the flight-plan, switching of lights, etc.).

“The project was successfully completed in parallel with other UAV projects, showcasing the commitment of the PAT workforce to be part of exploring new technology to expand on our product offering to both existing as well as potential UAV clients in the future,” PAT said.

Cobham SATCOM has now obtained type approval by Inmarsat and is taking on orders for this product.

NAF' first female fighter pilot on high performance jets currently training with the USAF. Arguably black Africa's first. Any nays bring proof of qualification on what fighter jet.

Whatever, NAF congratulations! What a feat! On the whole Nigeria's Armed Forces currently makes proud with the pace of capacity and capability building.

Hot News: Nigeria has just approved another 1 billion dollars for weapons acquisitions.

The cash is at hand and to be withdrawn immediately as approved by the NEC from the ECA which has over 2 billion dollars in the throve. The NDF stands at over 7 billion NGN. The NRF stands at over 100 billion NGN. The foreign reserve stands at about 40 billion dollars. This purchase is only to be drawn from the ECA.

Where are those questioning our alternative source of funding for matters of National Security. This is not budget spending. When the Giant decides to rise just hide.

Expect the soon arrival of penciled down hard assets for the Navy, Air Force and the Army.

And besides, I don't think any non Nigerian can really comment on Nigeria's defence budget. This thread looks forward to pics and bids of whatever new stuff is purchased.

The truth is the country works in a way we can't predict. I just hope we get something valuable with the funds.

Whatever can be recovered will be used as spares for the rest of the fleet, the remains probably get scrapped. The engines look intact. It was carrying an Augusta A109 engine in the back when it crashed, but no details of any damage to it.

My confidence this time is that the present federal administration is fiscally responsible and objective. Disbursement from the top may be clear but the EFCC should put an eye on things down the line. We should still do our civic duty at least through the National Assembly even if somethings will remain be classified.

Exactly so we hope. Nigeria's defence budget is opaque. Has always been.
