Hello All,

Greetings from Deutschland.

One advice, if you are above 30, please just go through the stress of opening Deutsche bank account, I think the stress is worth it. #start early.

Reasons:

1. If you are above 30 you pay bank charges.....lol, some banks charge as high as 7.69 euros monthly, I think Deutsche bank charges 4.99. I stand to be corrected by the gurus in the house smiley

2. Remember you are already paying a monthly charge of 4.99 for Fintiba ( if you decide to use it).

3. Kindly add the charges yourself and see how much u forfeit monthly.

Finally I am currently having an issue with Fintiba, they deduct more than 4.99 monthly. I have called and sent mails, still the issue is yet to be resolved.

Please choose carefully especially if you are above 30.

Shalom.

Oh boy you wan make fear catch me.

I was meant to go for Winter 2017 but i didn't meet up with my school's enrollment deadline, so i will be going for Winter 2018 and i already funded my fintiba account since August 2017, does it mean they will be deducting 4.99 monthly from it because i left the fund there until my next visa interview?

Secondly the passport i used to open my fintiba account has been renewed so now i have a new passport that i will use to apply for Winter 2018, will that be an issue when i want to process my visa for Winter 2018.

cc. Honourableseyi,jigba, donkafor, all the gurus in the house please help.

Overskills nie dey make monkey fall
Some people asking aren't asking because they don't have data to search for the answers rather they are asking because for goodness sake this is a German schooling Enquiries like I said most of their websites are in Germany you can't tell me you did everything by yourself without asking one damn question

If you can't answer ignore,it's better than throwing low key shades

And try to help anyone it doesn't matter if they are too dumb to be graduates

You are not God,you either help or mind your business

Not that
You are not helping and you aren't minding your damn business

This is not a matter of being over skilled, the truth is that most newbie are not interested in reading at all, rather wants to be spoon fed all the time. Your question has been answered time without number in this part 4 alone. Advising you to read back is for your own good, because you will be better equipped with the understanding of the process .However all information regarding courses and how to apply can be found on www.daad.de
or www.study-in.de.

Thank you very much. I decided not to waste my time on him. After going through his posts, i realised that he's even one of them. His own is even worse.
Apparently, someone advised him to read the thread, he said it's too much. Imagine the laziness ooo. And you intend to go for a degree where you'll probably do research upon research. Of which i didn't even see that before i wrote what i wrote.

How do I book an appointment for verification of documents, I've combed through the German embassy website and I can't see the link.

Is it a must a verify my documents? I have been offered an admission for this summer session and I've booked an appointment for 8th January 2018. If yes, can I still meet up for my verification, I plan to do it this week.

Certification of documents is for admission , after getting admission I don't think you need to certify your documents again, just take all the documents required for interview. My interview is 8th too
Please am I right

You don't need any other certification since you have gotten the admission.. Just gather all your documents and prepare very well for your interview

Hi Tinder,

For your first question, the answer is No. The deduction starts when you activate the account. So your money is intact for now smiley

I am not so sure about your second question, but I don't think its an issue because u only need block account confirmation from Fintiba for your interview. I am sure the new passport still bears your name and same passport number. Our gurus can explain better.

Hi,

A simple Google search would have answered this question.

The formula is as shown below.

Your Gp in German scale should be around 2.4 which means you are good to go.

Shalom

GR_TUM = 3 * [(GRmax - GRd) / (GRmax - GRmin)] + 1

GR_TUM = the GPA you're looking for, converted GPA (German/TUM system)
GRmax = highest possible grade in the non-German grading system, expressed in numbers
GRd = grade earned in the non-German grading system.
GRmin = lowest possible passing grade in the non-German grading system (i.e. the lowest possible grade that would still allow you to pass the course

An example is illustrated below:

GR_TUM = 3 * [(5 - 4,25) / (5 - 1)] + 1 = 3 * 0,75/4 + 1 = 0,562 + 1 = 1,562

--> one digit after the comma --> your "new" GPA (to use in the application form) would be 1,5

Please keep in mind: The German system recognizes grades from 1,0 (best)
to 4,0 (lowest possible passing grade) - so the result should be within this range.

yes the new passport has your name but passport number will change but you can always go with the old one to show you renewed should in case

@Tinder,

No need to worry. Your money is save. For passport, you will only need it for legitimation here in Germany before you access your money. Your passport will be scanned so, it's either you go with the old and new passports or send mail to Fintiba via support@fintiba.com informing them of passport change. Attach both scanned copies and they will do the needful before 2 working days.

I prefer the latter.

You do not need a format

Your sponsor needs to make an appointment at the Ausländerbehörde in his city.

They would give he/she a date to come in, as well as the required documents to bring along to verify that he/she is suitable to be your sponsor for your visa. It cost 25€

Once your sponsor has fulfilled all the necessary 7requirement, he would be issued a document, which is the sponsorship letter, duly stamped (that is the sponsorship letter). He needs to send the copy to you as the embassy needs to see the original format. You can ask that he/she scans it before sending it via courier, as you would need it as part of the documents for your visa interview.

All what your sponsor needs from you is your full name (as it appears on your passport) date of birth and your address here in Nigeria (for the courier)

CC Olanrewaju92

My sponsor wants to get me 3months health insurance from Germany n send along with my letter. Pls Does embassy accept insurance from Germany for student visa applicants?
