Pere isn't even an african word, it is the french word for father.

You invent inexisting "kingdoms" which are actually villages part of an already existing kingdom and you also invent titles.

I still don't understand how they can be so short sighted.
Distortion of history and creation of titles which never existed in the precolonial era is making the black race to look like a 419 race.
This is turning us (black people) into a laughing matter for the rest of the world.

In the sense that they keep making stuf up.
They took a french word "Père" and said it were the ijaw title for their "kings".
They make up kingdoms which are villages part of already existing kingdoms.

Whenever you guys meet ijaw claiming "pere" here and "pere" there just remind them that pere is actually not an african word but a french word which means father. The person amongst them who sold them the title is an original 419 and a very bad one. I can't believe that I am the first person to bring this out.

Who are you ?
The ijaw know where to find us.
If your definition of "letting them be" is :letting them grab our land. Then we will certainly not let them be.
We would rather die than let that happen. And we will give them a fight which they have never seen.
I don't think you guys can actually realize that we fought against the british empire !
And you think it is some fishermen who would scare us ?
As the igbo say, tofiakwa. Let the fight begin already. Put me in the first wave !

Whatever is going on in Edo State, it's certainly some group of people with vested interest, and some people who set much store for tradition and power, who might also have elite blood, that are behind it (I don't know what's up, so I can't pass any judgement)---do you think the average Ijaw guy hustling on the streets actually gives a hoot?

Making it a purely Ijaw matter automatically includes everyone that has Ijaw blood running in their veins---and that's very wrong.

I, for example, don't involve myself in any matter concerning my tribe, 'cause, honestly, it doesn't concern me. I identify with my name, personality and Nigerian nationality. So imagine how irritated I'll get if I'm included in a controversy involving Yoruba people (the tradition-directed ones and the elites) and some other tribe.

stop living in past glory.
Bini has lost it's relevance, they were settlers and met Ijaw in their ancestral land.
Don't 4get Bini is a minority while the Ijaws are found in 6 states.

First of all our name is Edo, not bini !
Second of all, it is proven through precolonial maps that the Benin Kingdom own the territory in question.
Also the first europeans who visited west africa made maps of what they saw and the Benin Kingdom is prominent in their maps made more than 600 years ago, so when exactly did the Edo people come and settle in your "ancestral land" and what proof do you have for this your incredible tale ?
Benin City is only our capital, it is not the entire kingdom. You would know that if you really were indigenous to the land.
How can you be indigenous to the land while nothing about you looks remotely Edo: your language, your life style, your educational background, nothing ! You have to get it into your head that it is not only the Edos in Benin City who would be fighting you. It is all the Edos in Edo state and beyond. You want a fight with the Edos and you think that you should be allowed to say which set of the Edo would fight you ?! you guys are funny, we will all fight for our King.

Sorry but they are a troublesome people, they are way too involved in armed rubbery, kidnappings, piracy and all.
Their economy is based on acts of criminality and troublemaking. Ofcourse this doesn't apply to all of them but, jesus christ, enugh is enough.

Ijaws are not even up to 600k in bayelsa ,this is a fact , even in 2014 election that booted Jonathan out bayelsa was less than 500k votes ..... Hahaha now you clown you were saying?

The worse thing is that war isn't actually about numbers.
Japan was dealing a huge blow to china in ww2 while chinese population is ten times that of japan.
cezar defeated the gauls who outnumbered his troups around 10 to 1.
Eritrea defeated ethiopia which outnulbered eritrea around 10 to 1.
How relevent is a talk about numbers. Even Sun Tzu made war strategies for smaller forces to defeat much larger forces and he did defeat forces outnumbering his forces 30 to 1. If people want a fight then let the fight start, talking about nulbers is futile.

So what do you plan to do? Launch the "Final Solution" of the Ijaws, like the Nazis did with the Jews? grin

I know for a fact that it's not possible for members of your own tribe in Edo State to be innocent of these crimes of which you accuse the Ijaws---they're human vices. So, what do you plan to do to members of your own tribe who indulge in such crimes? That's the same treatment that must be meted out to any Ijaw that commits any crime. There can be no discrimination, because, in case you forgot, they're Nigerians, and Edo state is Nigerian territory, so you have EQUAL RIGHTS.

I know I must sound too idealistic for your liking---but that's exactly what I like about me.

I'm telling you how things should be, in principle---but of course, in practice, they're not so, because, like Plato said 2500 years ago, "I have created the perfect state, but where are the perfect people?"
