The most it does is use its abysmal military resources for ECOMOG peace-keeping, brag about it but always suffer a sudden collapse in internal security when a major uprising occurs in Northern Nigeria.

it is the BRICS union and it includes Brazil,Russia,India, China and South Africa can you see what we are saying about proxy African countries to more developed international economies.
in the east African block there is the south south cooperation which include ethiopia, somalia,Kenya,China and some other countries bordering the Indian ocean and the Asia block

in the North sector of Africa,Egypt,Tunisia, are the stand alone economies with cooperation with the Arab,Europe,china market.in this zone Morocco has foot hold problem because of the instability in this region and very few market possibilities. it neighbours do not open their market to one another for any reason.the north African states do not have a regional Union.
Morroco does not need to be part of EU it will only neee to set up a proxy market for itself as a conduit into the Africa market and charge a token fee of the trade for every good/service cleared into the African market something Ghana is trying with the epa agreement with the eu

Well i dunno. Remove Ghana and Nigeria ECOWAS takes on a Franco identity. The only reason ECOWAS is Anglo dominated is because of Nigeria's sheer economic might that sees it contributing %70 to the Bloc. Take in Morocco we already have a Franco counter weight to Nigeria in every indices. If Morocco decides to outspend Nigeria for influence (there is no reason why they cant) and decides to engage militarily on regional issues...............

This guy. Na wao. I have watched the video and it talked about the 'agreement in principle' to admit morocco. I think you should know that that was granted over 6months ago. Its not a new decision arrived at in Abuja. An agreement in principle is not admittance. Its a welcome guarantee to 'look into your application'.

Morocco's bid cannot be automatically rejected because the 'geographic criterion' has been expunged from the revised ecowas treaty. It used to be a requirement but its no more. Please research this.

Ecowas commission did a study to evaluate the impact of admitting morocco and the report was submitted few days to the summit. Its yet to be studied and a new comittee of 5 presidents (including buhari) was formed to study the report. Hence, a final decision on Morocco was postponed. However, the abuja summit signpostes that Morocco would not be successful. I cant elaborate all the details. Pls research this. And a poster i quoted has earlier stated the facts.

Yes. Mauritania was a founding member of ecowas b4 she left and she would surely be readmitted. But not Morocco. Her application has been thoroughly bastardized by opposing groups within Nigeria, Ghana, Iviry Coast, Senegal, etc. So much opposition to Morocco, hence west african leaders have lost interest.
