First and foremost, I will like to appreciate the moderators, creator as well as the members and guests of this great forum. I am appreciating you cause, I have read various contributions on pertinent issues brought in by disturbed, confused nairalanders, and how you all have tried in helping those involved.


I am also writing this as someone in need for help/advise from the lawyers, estate managers as well as the good people on this forum. Forgive my paparazzi, so let me not waste further your time.


In 2008, some group of men knocked at our gate and met with my dad telling him they intend to erect a mast in our compound where we resides. Long story short, my dad leased some part of the land to this network provider to erect its mast.


Along the line, this particular network folded up and was no longer in operation. We were told later on that the initial network he leased the land to “re-leased” the land to one of the leading network provider in the country now.


For clarity sake, my dad, when signing the contract with the first network, did all the signing in secrecy. He didn't involved any of us, his children in the negotiations neither did he hint us on the amount to be paid.


Just recently, i became furious because, the mast is now becoming a “nuisance” in the compound. The sounds of their generators is not as quite as before so, its just 24hrs of disturbance.


So, i called in my sisters (as i am the only boy in the family) and we had a meeting with my dad asking him for details of the agreement he signed with them. After much plea, he partially opened up and made us realized that he signed a contract of a 15years lease with them and of which he was paid the sum of #300k per annum for 10 years and that after the elapse of 10years, he would be paid the remaining 5years at the same rate. Meanwhile, the company that acted as the middle man between him and the network collected about 40% of the money from him as their service charge.


Upon hearing this, we realized how greatly he as been cheated cause apart from that money paid, nothing has being of any benefit to him since then.


I'm calling on Anybody who have entered into this kind of deal to please, advise me on what can be done, cause 10years will expire next year and I think collecting that same amount for the next five years is as good collecting nothing.

Note: my investigation revealed that about 3 different networks are using that same mast now. Please, urgent advice is needed.

Am not particular about the money but that they major on the fact that he is an old man who is acting alone. Its also a slap on my face that as a graduate some persons can be taking undue advantage of my family
