A new faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday opened a new secretariat for the party in Asokoro District of Abuja.

The PDP duly recognized national secretariat is located at Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja.

The faction was reportedly formed by a group of five men namely – Prince Obi Nwosu, Alhaji Hassan Adamu, Chief Olusola Akindele, Chief Godwin Duru and Franklyne Edede.

The men are believed to be loyalists of one of the chairmanship aspirants in the party’s national convention held on December 9.

Nwosu, who is the leader of the group, told journalists that the process leading to the emergence of the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee (NWC) was fraught with illegality and abuse of electoral process.

The slogan of the new group is “Fresh PDP, PDP First.”

Nigerian politicians and their refusal to accept defeat.

You lost an election, and instead of being good party men and accepting defeat in good faith, you go and split your party, not being mindful of the fact that your party has just come through a similar crisis.

Fresh PDP should go and sit down.

Same thing happens in other political parties. Because Nigerians love power and more power.

These are APC sponsored people scared of any viable opposition that a reinvigorated PDP will offer.
The 2 well written and articulate press releases by the new PDP spokesman,exposing the incompetence of APC and how it is breaching its own constitution, a fact their ineptitude couldn't pick out,is even enough to send jitters down this shambolic,incompetent government in power.

Shouldn't this be illegal?
PDP is a registered organisation not just with INEC, but also with CAC, hence making it illegal to use the same name for another party
