Peace Ibiyeomie, wife of Portharcourt based Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries, yesterday gave out gifts and food items worth millions of naira to widows at Salvation Ministries. The items given include wrappers, bags of rice, livestock(chicken), kegs of oil, canned tomatoes and huge sum of money to well over 1000 widows; members and non members inclusive, who were present at the End of Year Widow’s Forum Meeting
This has really made the widows smile home with joy as they would really enjoy the Christmas celebration

I agree that Christainity should give charity, but you say 'no religion can boast of that other than Christianity'. So I would like to ask you, what religion do you know outside Christianity that made you land at the conclusion that Chritanity is the Number 1 Religion of Charity?


@topic; this is a good one for a change. More pastors like him needed in Nigeria right now with all the poverty and starvation in our country. kudos to this pastor and his ministry.

Beside nowadays many think that because the church collect tithes, they have not been doing charity works FOR YEARS before Freeze comes up to try relevance.

Lalasticlala, your attention is needed. Some times a little bit of publicity (at least by the beneficiaries) - of church charity - is not bad.

What percentage of church money has been used for charity purpose. Probable less than 1% where is the remaining 99% annual income??
This should be a monthly thing not one off. Also scholarship programme, hospital facility and healthcare programme, temporary accommodation programme etc.
