i have been wondering while some of the interviewees were asked simple questions (in some cases just 3 spannin 2-3 minutes), while others were asked difficult questions(in some cases over 10 spanning over 15-30 minutes)...
the only logical conclusion is dat those who were asked difficult questions and spendin longer time during the interview are those who performed well during the test and who ve a higher likelihood of getting the job and those who spent just few minutes were just interviewed to fulfil righteousness!!...this is just an opinion pls nobody should attack me for it....anyways goodluck to everyone!

As for Federal Character, it is everything in this recruitment and that is all I can say. For example, I stumbled on the fed. character sharing formular for the ongoing NCC recruitment. Some states have just 2 slots, some 3, some have no slot at all. The slots were shared using positions i.e State X, 2 slots, level 8 and 13. State Y, 3 slots, level 8, 9 and 12 etc. Another method may be adopted for DPR but slots per state will never be equal. D current nominal roll of an agency will determine which states or region already have too much representation and which states are disadvantaged due to low or no representation. Therefore, this is used in d next recruitment to balance representation.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I really envy you guys that were asked relatively simple questions at the interview. Did mine at Lagos & it was a tug of war. I was asked questions in geology, engineering, toxicology and envt science. One of the interviewers (a PhD holder whom I've met before at a conference) made me to understand that an environmentalist should have basic knowledge of geology and engineering to succeed at DPR. We argued back and forth on EIA, EER, baseline study, BOD in relation to toxicity, if water is harmful or not and why, if water is a chemical or not and why, bioremediation, oil spill management etc. Even the current affairs questions were unusual. I was asked which state appointed comissioner for happiness, d appointee's gender and full name. Name of PDP chairman and by how votes did he win. Who were the other contestants? The title and full name of the paramount ruler in my state. I was asked to name 2 other first class rulers in my state and if the head of the traditional council seat was rotationary or not. I was later asked about my postgraduate research, my project supervisor (who is well known to the interviewer) and why I want 2 work as an environmentalist with DPR. I was also asked if I have a relative at DPR. I spent over 35 minutes and exhausted my saliva. Lol. Then what professional qualifications I had. Was told having a MSc/MA/MEng etc is 6 marks. Was told that Results and profiles were uploaded into the cloud immediately after each interview session.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Wait until letters starts rolling out. The response of your first question can land you 9 other questions. Secondly, what about having realised they are behind schedule, they need to minimize time for each candidate and thirdly, have you heard about “GRACE” before?
I was only asked a question(where is the capital of United Nations) during the interview of my present job and mind you, it’s a Fed job where someone who spent like 45 mins in there didn’t get the job.
So forget that insinuation Bro.

there is no logic in what you have just put forward here. in any interview, when the interviewer have a feeling that you really know what you are saying, they spend less time with you. i have been privileged to conduct some interview and this is one of basic guiding principle.

... i was very correct from my first answers to the forth but the fifth question in current affairs turned me off balance which i told them that i do not have any idea.... but in my field of study , the question were much and the answers to each of them were much. for instance papamoss. i had to explain five of them..although, so confident in my field.. A friend that entered b/4 me was 6 questions and he failed two.. he got all the current affairs.. only God knows what DPR are looking for but to my greatest surprise i and my friends that were interviewed on the same day but in different batches were asked the same question. which means that we were asked more than 10 questions.. I also observed that we in the same batch are not asked the same question. In summary, only the grace of God we need now...

Am tired of hearing this "you are competing with people from your state" ....... You are also competing with people in your field. Mind you this is not PTDF or Bea scholarship.

Let's assume you are a chemist and they need 100 Chemist and just 10 people from your STATE and you happened to be the all around best in your field (in this illustration chemistry applicants) but because your state is so competitive you happened to be 25th in your
State does that mean you will not be employed?....you might even be the first to be picked from your state depending on the performance of the 24 people ahead of you(in your state) in their different fields. Let's do away with this mentality and pray for God's favour.

Heheheheh lol! You can't be the highest in your field and 25th in your state. That means the majority of the remaining 24 would be highest in their respective fields. na only your state Waka come?

It is very possible, taking into consideration that there are some fields with ridiculously few number of interviewees as against other fields.

It is very possible, taking into consideration that there are some fields with ridiculously few number of interviewees as against other fields.

The field with few number may depend on the number of people that applied, their performance and management decision.

For instance, if the cut off mark for Ondo state is 55% and out of 50 candidates with this score 30 studied Petroleum Engineering, 3 studied Biochemistry, 7 studied Economics, 1 studied Chemistry, 4 studied Chemical Engineering and 6 studied Geology. Therefore, more petroleum engineering graduates will come from Ondo State and this will make it more competitive for petroleum engineering if the management does not lower the cut off mark to accommodate graduates from other discipline.

The management can take this decision if other states have candidates from other discipline who met the cut off mark.

In summary, we can not have same number of candidates for every discipline. The higher the performance of candidates from your field the higher the number that will be invited for interview and the higher the competition for that field or position. This depends on management decision.

Well in that case I believe they could just replace excess cadres with the next available highest candidates from the same state.

Interesting new topic..i think people should forget about competition for now. The time to be competitive ended already. Its important to know that atleast every state has a very top stakeholder that has a slot or 2 that will be granted regardless of the candidates scores. This is a given even if merit intake is majorly considered in this recruitment. In other words, if they are taking only 2 people in a particular state, you realise it will only take the grace of God to be taken in place of that major stakeholder's candidate even if you score the highest. We hav no idea how the quota system will be broken down or how many per state or even if your state will have a slot or not because it is actually possible they will not take from 1 or 2 states. For now, it's you and your God to find favour. We will all be fine last last..

if some States will not be taken then why are they trying their best by applying federal character for each state to be represented appropriately at this stage being at the top cumulative score is the best and safe situation

From my understanding, the idea of quota system is to reshuffle. A particular state mit already be well represented in the organisation so it is possible to cut out that state assimilation. Correct me if I'm wrong on the quota system function tho

According to what I know, this recruitment is not done to balance the lopsided areas. NO
The function of FCC in this particular recruitment is to ensure that all states are ably represented in this recruitment according to the quota system they have worked on and derived taking no consideration of what the current staff strength of each state presently represented in DPR.
