Adminisher:then why do they build modular refineries if it's only profitable at scale. you can say more profitable but not completely un profitable. at least cost of transport to and fro will substitute for lack of scale. nearness to market will offset any other refining cost |

erico2k2:This is a very short sighted view. The money made from importing generator can equally be made if not higher via refining the existing nigerian gaz into petrol. They can just turn their equity from one business into the other, with the advantage that they will be doing something patriotic that will benefit them and their children too. And a resourceful leadership with vision would have understood that and provided tax incentives to encourage the businessmen who invest into that domain, while increasing tax on importation of petrol. As simple as abc. |

Adminisher:You now want to tag the Op as being ignorant, leaving the people that promised to build the refinery in months. Your wisdom is questionable. |

seguno2:That will make me the butt of the jokes if it ever plays out that way. So crack yours let us see. But come to think of it Nigeria is already a joke so commenting on national issues will look like i am trying to crack a joke. |
| Re: Where Are The Modular Refineries? by Adminisher: 4:46am On Dec 22, 2017 |
mikolo80:The cost transportation is annoying. You cannot build a $40million pipeline to a $10million refinery for each refinery. People are not thinking. It is even the transport cost that makes modular refineries unworkable. They will receive crude from terminals and crude oil quality control centres by BARGE. That is the only way...and my friend, it is extremely STUPID |
| Re: Where Are The Modular Refineries? by Adminisher: 4:50am On Dec 22, 2017 |
donttouch:The people that believed modular refineries will come in months are the stupid ones. The whole of the Niger Delta is peopled by tribes who don't understand things like hardwork, patient determination, discipline, delayed gratification. That is why they would believe that capital projects and uneconomic ones at that will just fall from God's perfect sky. |
| Re: Where Are The Modular Refineries? by harveyspec: 6:43am On Dec 22, 2017 |
Adminisher:Yet the illegal ones in the bush are working & producing diesel even though the quality isn't so Good. modular refineries is not rocket science, it won't take long for designs to be done. design can be done less than 6months!! The reason modular refineries or our comatose refineries will not see the light of the day is because of those that are benefitting from the way things are now. they will fight tooth & nail for things to remain this way |

Desyner:was it not President Jonathan and the former minister of Agriculture that started the rice self-sufficiency campaign? now you all are putting the results as PMB achievement, really? |

| Re: Where Are The Modular Refineries? by Omooba77(op): 12:12pm On Dec 22, 2017 |
Adminisher:Based on VP analysis during campaigning, it is not complicated as you made us believe now. We already have existing pipelines in most states; you can Tie-in; branch off and connect to your 'modular' refineries. There is a trunk A pipeline down to Kadunna. This government has failed in my own conclusion! |
